My son is a college student in West Haven. Since he is living away from the campus, he needed to have his car with him this semester. He got a call from his room mate who was on campus and needed a ride back because his car wouldn't start. . On the way back to their apartment, my son'scar started to emit smoke and he couldn't drive it any further! A few good samaritans stopped, and they pushed the car about 1.5 miles back to the apartment. We knew of no mechanics in the West Haven area as we live 100 miles away.. We were very concerned about literally being taken for a ride! I turned to Angie's List for help, and found Marshall's Garage. I was hopeful after reading the reviews. The car was towed there on Thurs. night. On Fri. morning I received a call from Mr. Marshall. He told me his diagnosis, and provided a quote. He was quite professional and thorough on the phone. I gave him the OK to perform the service. He called later that day, and to our surprise, the car was ready. He was about to close for the day, and my son was not available to pick up the vehicle then. He picked it up first thing the next morning. He says it is running better than ever! So nice to know that we have found a reputable place in case the care needs future service. I also checked the price with my mechanic and he said it was in his ballpark .

This is an EXCELLENT service station. Please give them a try.
(Alot of people at the West Haven VA Medical Center also take
their cars to Marshalls Garage.) I've never heard a and quot;badand quot; review
from anyone.
And LADIES...I MUST say that Marshalls Garage was very fair.
They didn't try to and quot;sell me stuff I didn't needand quot; or tell me
I needed a and quot;special partand quot;. I have OVER 104,000 miles on my car
and now it really runs great!!

We have a Chrysler Town and Country Van. We lost the breaks and had
the car towed to Marshall's Garage on a Friday morning. It turned out
that a break line had ruptured and had to be replaced. This required
the removal of the fuel tank - which had just been filled. Marshall
explained to me - in detail - what the possible problems would be
regarding making the required disconnections of various fittings. If he
had to and quot;Break the Connectionsand quot; we would have the expense of replacing
various components. His estimate was that in a worst case scenario the
costs could run as high as $800. I told him to do his best but take
what ever time he needed to and quot;easeand quot; the fittings out and let them soak
with penetrating fluids.
He did the repair, he was able to save the components he was worried
about. When I picked up the car the bill was about 1/2 the worst case
scenario, and the fuel tank was full as when he got it. At $3.75 to
$4.00/gal I appreciate the integrity of putting all the fuel back in.

I have gone to him for years. I like it because I know he does a good job but I also know that if something goes wrong after they have fixed it they have no qualms about bringing the car back in and fixing it again and they don't charge you. At least they have never charged me. If there are any issues with anything they take it right in and take care of it. They are reliable and responsible. Some people tell me his price is a little high but I don't mind paying him because I know I am getting my monies worth and I can trust all of them with my vehicle. You get what you pay for. He put a new engine in my daughter's car. He let us know how long it would be and he let us know of any issues. She had trouble with the new engine. He called the people who sold him the engine and had them replace it for free. He is very good. My husband knew him for years. The family has had the garage there for years. The father of the current owner ran it and now the son runs it.

These guys are the best! They have you in and out and they never try to harass you at all. They are reliable, trustworthy, and they have great prices as well. There is nothing that I don t like about them. When I walk in, they do what I ask and nothing more. There are never any surprises and I like that in a company.
