Replaced front and rear disc brake rotors and pads. They topped off brake fluid as well as cleaned and greased caliper slides and pins with silicone paste lubricant. They are always fast, friendly and fair at Modern Tire. It is the only place we allow to work on our cars because of the quality service they do with strong integrity.

They are really friendly. They are good about fitting me into their schedule. They are good at telling me what needs to be done and they do not upsell me. I don't feel like they are trying to get all they can out of me.

I liked being able to schedule online, that process went well, The day I took in the car they called back within a couple hours with the estimate, the car was ready by the end of the day, brakes work great with no problems, I can't fault them for anything, it was just the price that I was a little shocked with but it probably wasn't far out of line with other shops considering what they had to do.

It was good. They were friendly and they were  prompt.

Factory scheduled maintenance

I have known John Desimone for about five decades. He runs an excellent operation, while weathering the storm in WH Center with all sorts of changes. He has a competent staff and customers are treated with courtesy and respect. They always let you know ahead of time what issues are detected with your vehicle and there's never surprises. Brian addressed my problem with a tire and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. We discussed four new tires for the future  They are always willing to give you a ride back home, or to your employment and are extremely customer service orientated. Always a pleasure dealing with Andrew or Brian.
Modern Tire is just an honest, reliable landmark in West Hartford Center and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them without reservation. They not only deal with tires, they deal with mechanical work and keep your car safe.

The last service they performed for me was an oil change but they have done other work for me in the past. I have since bought a new car and am using the dealer because of the deals they included with the sale.
These guys are trustworthy - one of the better things you can say about an auto repair shop. However, they are VERY pricey and have become less customer oriented in their hours of operation. They used to be open on Saturdays and are no longer. They don't take any jobs after 4pm, even an oil change and they close promptly at 5pm. Maybe this works for enough of their customers but certainly not all of them. I wonder how many customers they've lost because of this... I would use them again if they could be more accommodating.

My son's Honda broke down in the very early hours of the morning, radiator overheating.  Even though we showed up without any notice and before they were even open for the day, we were waited on promptly and professionally.  They repaired it pretty quickly, and at a fair price.  After several poor experiences with various other repair shops in the area, I think I've finally found a good shop.

Modern Tire was very close to my home so I decided to give them a try. I brought my car in and explained that it would stall out while driving and then it was difficult to get restarted afterward. I was very concerned that this would happen while I was on the highway or far away from home.
I left my car the next morning and they thoroughly evaluated the fuel and  the electrical systems, in fact they kept my car for an extra day to see if they could determine the problem. In the end the technician called and told me that they were confidant that the problem was with the electrical system but they could not pin point exactly where. Because it was an older car they advised against putting a bunch of money into it and suggested that I look for a newer car instead.
I asked if I could leave the car there while I searched for a new one and they agreed. Three days later I went to Modern Tire and they got the car started for me so that I could drive it to the dealer and pick up my new car. In the end Modern Tire did not charge me for the evaluation or storage fees and were completely honest with me, what a refreshing change!

I have been bringing my cars to Modern Tire since the mid 1980s and trust them completely.  My husband has always brought his cars to the dealer for service.  I find that dealers generally charge more and do more work than is truly needed. 
When my husband's 2006 Acura reached 100,000 miles and it was decision time about whether to look for another (fairly new used) car for him, or do the required maintenance to this one so we could keep it another few years, I finally convinced him to try my favorite auto service place.  He was not disappointed.
The $2,000 price tag might sound like a lot, but it's a bargain compared to what the dealer would have charged.
Modern Tire warned us that it might be a two-day job, but they completed the work in one day.  They did everything that needed to be done, and nothing extra.  Small problems were treated with small solutions, and the major work got the attention they needed.
I completely trust these guys.  They never add on things that are not needed, and will tell you if a problem needs to be fixed next week or can wait six months.  Their work is careful and thorough.  Andy and Brian in the office are super sweet, funny and nice.  The guys in the shop are polite and careful to keep the inside of the car clean.  You will not find a shop that's more trustworthy or  with better quality work.

Service is always excellent.  They're professional and honest.  They do only what needs doing and suggest ways to save money.  I feel entirely safe with the work they do.  I've never had a bad experience with Modern.

I get my family cars serviced regularly at Modern Tire. This time around, they squeezed me in when my alternator died suddenly and had to be replaced.The service was completed quickly and professionally, as usual. The company is polite, attentive, and remembers me by name. I do not find them to be any more expensive than any other car repair company, and they are certainly less expensive than my Subaru dealer. We have two older cars (2000, 2001) with about 125k miles on each. There have been several opportunities for the guys at Modern Tire to take advantage of me and fix more than really needs fixing, but they have been unfailingly honest. I rely on their business, and I trust them. I only wish they were open on Saturdays!

They refused to use my store bought oil filter.  They only want to use their high price parts.

Excellent - timely service, good at walking through explanation of services - what's needed, what can wait (not urgent).

The guys at Modern Tire are fantastic. We never have to wait for an appointment and the work is usually done within a day (two at the most, for when a special part is needed.) I trust their judgment implicitly and have never been led astray or sold something I didn't need. They're among the last of a dying breed of auto service folks who are honest and pay attention to the details!

I have been taking my vehicle to Modern Tire for quite a while. They get my car in right away when I call to make an appointment. I have taken my vehicle in the past for brakes and tire rotation as well. They are always professional and don't overcharge me.

I am pleased with the service and the name brand products carried by Modern Tire and Auto Service. The alignment on the car went just fine. They have a friendly, knowledgeable staff. When I purchased tires from them, they gave me a free oil change with each tire I got, which was a nice bonus. Their prices are fair as well.

I was very happy because they were able to get the parts within a day. They do good work and we are pleased with them. They are reasonable and knowledgeable. They don t try to hassle you out of any extra services and they are able to answer all of your questions. I would recommend them to other people.
