The first two specialists insisted I needed a full roof replacement to maintain uniformity, quoting me $14,000 and $12,000 respectively. They responded immediately to a request for a quote. Came out and explained the process and answered all of our questions. Extremely professional. Great first impression. They followed up a couple of days before the job was scheduled as a reminder and cover any last minute questions. Arrived on time on the scheduled day. Completed the roof same day. The roof came out great. They even noticed the chimney screen was missing and replaced that. The yard was immaculate. They even moved a bunch of my patio furniture to make sure it wasn’t damaged and returned it all to its original place when they were done. Overall great experience. 100% highly recommend!

JP Carroll was a pleasure to work with on our roof replacement for our home. The salesperson was very professional, reviewing the options for shingle selection and explaining the reasons for the high quality with the GAF Master Elite shingles which have a 50 year lifetime. I was particularly impressed the GAF shingles are infiltrated with copper to reduce the chance of algae build-up and discoloration of the shingles with years. The prices with JP Carrroll were competitive with other quotes. They coordinated work with our solar panel installer who installed the panels a few days after the new roof shingles were installed. The work crew as outstanding, very high quality workmanship. They took extra care to do a very thorough clean-up of the yard when they were done, so clean including pickup of stray nails, like they were never there in the first place. The craftsmanship on the roof work was outstanding. Definitely recommend JP Carroll for future roof replacements.

Hiring a contractor to do a major investment to a home is always a bit of a gamble. JP Carroll Roofing was a positive experience from first touch through the final follow up. They were responsive, on-time, professional, and the staff was respectful and the final product and cleanup impeccable. Do not hesitate to use them you will be happy that you did. We hired JP Carroll based upon word of mouth from others who hired them for roof replacements. The communication leading up to the project was great. The crew who completed the project was excellent. I would highly recommend JP Carroll.

A sloppy, incompetent performance. I have used Carroll to maintain my slate roof for many years and had never had a negative experience – until 2019 anyway. That year I had two problems: one of the maintenance tasks was not performed as agreed, and the workmen left their fast food garbage strewn across my roof right outside a window. The first problem could have been avoided if the workers had had even a minimal level of communication with me. As it was they came unannounced without giving me any indication of what they intended to do and drifted away without telling me what they had done and what the status of the project was. I expected Jack Carroll to react very quickly and decisively about the garbage his workers left behind, but he merely said that he would make the workers “aware” that this was not acceptable. He did not make any attempt to clean up the situation and apparently expected me to hoist my 74 year old body up on my roof to clean up after his workers. This year the project was on a larger scale and included replacing my garage roof. Again the workers appeared at random, unannounced intervals, did not even minimally communicate with me, and left just slightly less fast food garbage behind them. Despite telling Jack in writing that I would be repainting the garage gray and choosing gray shingles, the workers installed a dark brown gutter and downspout on the garage. Of course, this could have been easily avoided with even the slightest level of communication. Jack’s amazing reaction was to suggest that I paint over the newly installed brown gutters/downspout. So much for quality and pride in workmanship! Then Jack bizarrely suggested that he could replace the brown gutter and downspout with white ones. What a guy! Even the workmanship was rather poor. Shortly after replacing the roof shingles, they started to come off due to not being nailed down properly. Anyway, this turned into nearly six months of dealing with incompetence and buffoonery. Seems like a well-respected business has let its standards slip rather drastically. Needless to say, I won’t be doing business with them in the future. If you do, you should expect similar results.

I was impressed by the high quality and excellent efficiency of the roofing crew in finishing the whole roof within 3 days. Gabriel and his guys worked very hard and were very cooperative in keeping our driveway and household accessible and manageable.

From initial estimate to installation, the process was very smooth. Of the 3 estimates we received, JP Carroll's was the mid-point, but had the best materials and warranty terms. And throughout the process as we came up with questions and add ons (e.g. replaces tar flashing at chimney or discuss gutter options), Jack Carroll was very responsive and helpful. When I was having trouble picking out the color of shingle to use, I was able to go their location and see several options which helped me narrow it down. I chose GAFs Timberline HD shingles in "Appalachian Sky" and am thrilled with how the roof looks! The installation crew was professional in their work and conversations with me on any questions/setting expectations. They worked over 4 very hot/humid days the first week of Sept, but never seemed to let it slow them down. Noting that we have young children, they took extra care thru the yard to ensure there were no stray nails or materials. We greatly appreciate their hard work! Integrity of roof will prove out over time, but the installation experience is giving us confidence!

A very nice guy came out and looked at the roof and said they would give me a quote. After weeks went by I called and asked for the quote. Another week - and I have still not heard anything. This is very disappointing as I thought they were professional.

J.P. Carroll did an excellent job replacing our roof. The job site was left as clean as it was before they started. Their price was reasonable- not the highest nor the lowest. We relied on reviews on Angie’s List to help us make our decision. We are glad we did. I would recommend this company when you need your roof replaced.

I called about a month ago after noticing wet boxes in my attic. They came out within the week to assess the problem. After a small delay due to snow on the roof, they replaced some shingles and applied sealant. They did such a good matching the shingles I actually called and asked if they had been out to do the repair. After a heavy rain a week later, I noticed a few drops on a tarp below the repaired area (compared with the puddles that had been there before). I called and they came out two days later. It’s been two weeks with several episodes of rain and snow and the tarp is completely dry. I really appreciated the second effort and their commitment to getting the problem solved. I felt they were very professional and efficient. The cost of the repair was reasonable for the services provided and I will definitely use them again for any roof-related problems.

The job went smoothly removing the old roofs, but the installers found the sheathing under the layers had rotted (hence the leaks). Once again Jack came by, developed a solution, and work began again that afternoon, where the sheathing was all replaced. The workmanship of his crew is top quality, and while I found a few items that needed attention, they were back the next day to correct the minor faults identified, without question or hesitation. I recommend them highly!

When we realized that we desperately needed a new roof, we remembered that back in 2005/2006, there was this amazing roofing company, JP Carroll Roofing, that donated a $20,000 roof, including all of the labor and materials needed, to a public charity we love called Hartford City Mission in the north end of Hartford. So we decided that if we have to pay for a new roof, we'd love to give the money to this family owned business that was so good to our favorite charity and our community. We called and Jack from JP Carroll came to look at our roof and give us a quote. We told him about what his parents had done for Hartford City Mission over ten years ago and how much we appreciated it. That afternoon Jack emailed us our quote with a very reasonable price for our roof, about half of the cost was materials and half was labor. But much to our amazement, as we read the note from Jack, he was offering to have JP Carroll do our roof and only charge us half price (the materials), and they would cover the other half (labor cost). If that wasn't jaw-dropping enough, they also offered to donate the fully quoted price of the labor for our roof as a charitable contribution to Hartford City Mission! So, based on JP Carroll's proven track-record of the highest quality roofing as well as their incredible generosity to charitable organizations that make a real difference in the lives of children and families in under-resourced communities, it was easy to choose which roofer we would use. Our new roof is beautiful and we couldn't be more impressed by Jack and the whole team at JP Carroll. The crew over at Hartford City Mission is also incredibly thankful for the very generous donation. If you need roofing, siding, or windows, why would you use anyone but JP Carroll? We are VERY pleased with the process and the roof! Estimation Process- Was requested and completed within 24-48 hours of request. Of the 3 estimates we received, it was the mid-point on price, but included the best materials and warranty terms. The JP Carroll Team was highly responsive throughout the process with any questions or add-ons we wanted. Installation Process- This crew worked hard! They completed the roof over 4 days the first week of Sept. There were some very hot/humid days, but they never slowed down. Typical the crew arrived by 8:00 and ended their day by 4:30 with only a brief lunch break. They were professional in their dealings with me and respectful to our home and kids. Each day they cleaned up their work and checked for nails to ensure kids wouldn't step on a stray. And at the end of the process, they cleaned out all gutters too of any debris. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with their work! The Roof- I chose GAF's Timberline HD series in Appalachian Sky (part of the Harvest Collection). It gave me a "basket weave" look in a black and brown palette that is still very classic. I am thrilled with the look of the roof!! Given that the roof has only been on for a few weeks, the integrity will need to be proven over time; but the installation process gives us great confidence it will be fine. JP Carroll roofing cared about making sure we have a quality roof!

Contacted Jack the owner and requested a quote for diagnosing and fixing a roof leak on July 7th.  Jack was prompt and able to provide a quote for me the next day. We agreed to the work to be done and it was scheduled for July 22nd with instructions of what the roofer would need and the timeframe anticipated for the job. 
The roofer was prompt and efficient, cleaning up as he went.  The roofing job was completed as anticipated and he did a fantastic job.  The bath vent connection was made the next day.
I would highly recommend Jack and JP Carroll Roofing to anyone.   When our roof needs replacing, he will get the job!

I noticed a water leak coming through the ceiling around the chimney. I used Angie's SnapFix to find someone to perform the repair to the chimney. JP Carroll came out as scheduled through SnapFix, viewed the chimney from the ground and from the interior, and determined that the flashing had not been installed correctly years ago when the roof was put on (I did not own the home at that time). They said they could recycle the existing material or replace it with entirely new materials. Since the materials were still usable, I went with that option. No leaks since! Very professional to work with. Would use them again.

Not much to say - they did what they said they would do.

I hired a contractor in the spring to replace a roof section and skylight. This was to replace a foggy skylight (20 years old) and to correct a small leak of unknown origin. That contractor was a nightmare.I was left with a skylight that did not fit the opening and a bigger leak than when I started. I fired him and went on Angie's list and read a great review of J.P.Carroll. From the beginning of the process thru completion, they were professionals. The owner provided an estimate on- site and clearly explained the work to be done. The office sent a written estimate, including all important details of work,such as where ice and water shield would be installed and what process and materials would be used for counter flashing .
The crew arrived on-time and did a great job including clean-up. The owner was there during the day to survey the cause of existing damage and to manage the solutions.
The price was on-target for the work performed.
The results was outstanding.
