Boy visited the house around 7/21/25. He walked around the entire property. Sent a estimate via email on 7/28/25. The estimate was for $5415.00. Contract signed via email.8/4/25. Started the carpentry work to replace rotted cedar siding boards on.9/4/25. And. 9/8/25, he called and said he would need an additional $1600.00 for rental of a lift to get it higher cedar siding boards. This was hard to understand as he already looked at the property. So I stated this significant increase was not right and said no. On 9/10/25, he called he probably can t finish the painting or the power washing and will look for another contractor for us. On 9/11/25, Roy showed up with a contractor who said they could finish the power washing and painting. (in the contract it stated that Rooks should have sent something in writing to us if they subcontracted this out, which they never did.) another contractor showed up later in the day and also looked at the house. On 9/15 Roy called back and said his guys would be coming on 9/24/25 and he will pay for the cost of the lift himself. On 9/19, Roy came by to power wash the house. He stated that he just purchased this power washer and could not get it started which I helped him to start. He proceeded to leave a mess of oil on my driveway which I attempted to clean up. When he was finished, he never said goodbye and never heard from him again. He never replied to any texts or returned. Any phone calls. He simply ghosted me.

We hired Roy from Rooks Home Services to install a dryer vent in our newly relocated laundry room. He was easy to communicate with, responded quickly to our request, did all the billing online and most importantly, did the job in a timely fashion and his work was exactly as promised. He’s a really nice guy who takes pride in his work and we would not hesitate to hire him again.
