The refrigerator had the standard 1 year warranty, and after only two years it has died. Sears came out for a service call and the service man told me that the compressor was dead and it wasn't worth trying to fix it that I needed a replacement refrigerator.
I contacted Sears with this information and they were unsympathetic and unwilling to work with me at all. After several days going back and forth and waiting on the phone with "customer solutions" for over 2 hours they finally offered me a 10% discount on my next major purchase.
I said that offer was insulting and that I wanted to speak with someone else, the lady I spoke with said there was no one else to speak with. I asked to speak with her manager and she said "that will require me to walk all the way to the other side of the building!" and refused to let me speak with someone else.
I wasn't asking them to buy me a new refrigerator, but to simply work with me to fix the situation. Having a two year old refrigerator completely die is unacceptable and they obviously sold me a faulty appliance. A 10% discount isn't even as much as the regular sales they hold!
I will NEVER purchase anything from Sears ever again! They were rude and obviously have poorly trained customer service associates.
