Randy Perry assured me the proper OEM glass would be used on my vehicle. Instead, they used cheap Chinese XYG brand glass which is thinner. The glass was scratched and scuffed. The glass was not even bonded to the body of the vehicle on the driver's side A-piller. The molding was far worse. The molding, per the Ford shop manual, is to be installed before the windshield adhesive cures. This was not done properly and the molding began to lift out of the channel as soon as I drove the car on the highway. After the molding had popped out, I was able to see where the J-channel was scraped during the install. Light surface rust had already begun to form as the primer was applied poorly. The remains of the paint and old gasket material were scattered all over the interior of the car. The molding was torn in several locations.
Perry Lathrop was supposed to perform additional work, but I decided not to proceed based on the poor windshield job. I was charged $1200 for the windshield and molding. The molding was marked up by Perry Lathrop and they charged four hours labor to install it. I had to purchase a second molding which they made me pay for even though they destroyed the first one. I will never return to this business while Randy Perry is running things. I requested a refund for the work not performed and that took forever. Randy couldn't even figure out the correct refund. I showed him the correct figures and he said "I could scribble all I wanted" but the refund wasn't changing. Then he realized his mistake and uttered a quiet apology. He began to add charges and fees to pad the bill. I took what I could of the refund and cashed the check before they stopped payment on it. I'm suing for the rest. My car left Perry Lathrop in far worse condition than when it arrived.
My visit went well from start to finish. I was given a written estimate and the work was explained to me. There was a convenient drop box for my keys when I left the car on Sunday for work to be done on Monday. The car was ready as promised and the new bumper looked perfect. It had arrived without primer, but the extra labor was not added to my bill. Everyone went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. All in all a great experience.
