good work on both counts. Total knee replacement done in April... PT ongoing, but with good results so far. Drs. Maletz and Salkin both did good work and were super supportive. Ditto for Allyson, the PA. Now at seven weeks post knee replacement and am at 90% of recovery goals.... A great practice with whom I have had over 15 years experience.

Description of Work: Stay away. Office drops calls or just won't answer and nurse never returns a call. The doctor should be ashamed of his support staff and accessibility issues.

Disconnected call frequently or no answer. When finally get through to a nurse vm, never get a call back. Tried three weeks to get help for increasing pain and a worsening problem. Finally did get call back, but not about my problem; rather a call to move my appointment I had with the doctor to 10 days LATER as he had a surgery scheduled. I am forced to go to the Emergency room I guess and burden our healthcare system more.
Description of Work: Dr. Maletz did take a lot of time with me, though not sure yet the correct diagnosis, but calling the office is the worst experience ever.

Doctor was very nice and knowledgeable. The doctor specialized in lower back and spinal injuries and knew what he was talking about. He didn't prescribe me medication because he didn't think it would benefit my situation, which I liked.
Description of Work: Had lower back pain, the doctor performed a set of physical examinations to check for range of motion. Also gave an X-Ray and determined I had a previous injury that never healed all the way. Prescribed physical therapy (for core strengthening) and gave me a set of instructions to help my lower disc heal..

They are very attentive to my problems. They referred me to a physical therapist. They were in good touch with that physical therapist while the therapy was going on.

I took a book because all my experience has told me I'd be there a couple hours. I was in the office within 10 mins of my scheduled time. This was the way it worked through three surgeries at this facility, for a total of about 9 office visits. The physicians assistant was prompt and thorough. The doctor arrived quickly after. Dr. Burrows was amazing. He has a calm gentle nature and a reassuring smile. At first I was given an injection. This was the protocol they had to follow because of insurance requirements. The injection worked for several months then the symptoms returned. Dr. Burrows told me he did not believe in just giving a bunch of shots, so he'd operate to fix it. I am a classical piano teacher, so it was mortifying having to deal with problems related to my hands. He made me feel secure and that all would be fine. The day of the surgery I arrived at Pequot Medical. They were prompt and gracious in dealing with me. I was kept warm and comfortable while I waited. The procedure went just fine. Dr. Burrows gave me adequate pain medication for after. This was a huge deal to me because I have a low pain tolerance and a high resistance to pain meds. I needed the pain meds the first couple days and after that it was fine. I had meds left over. No PT after the surgery. The only thing I would change is getting a little sedative while I was waiting. I was a wreck nerve wise. An amazing job was done by Dr. Burrows and the staff at Pequot. Many Thanks,Barbara AndersonPawcatuck, CT
Description of Work: I have a trigger finger on my left hand and something wrong with my right wrist. It was easy to get an appointment and I had no crazy paperwork to do.

Many members of my family have been seen by physicians in the practice over the years, including myself. When my primary care physician ordered an xray on my wrist and it was determined fractured, I call the office to make an appointment to get the fracture stabilized and casted. They could not see me for six days! This is totally unacceptable for a fracture in a 59-year old. I called another doctor in the area (Dr. Carlow) and was seen by him three hours later! I will never go to or refer anybody to Dr. Maletz' office again. They have grown too big for their own good. Patient care must come first - not profit and doctor convenience.

Was referred to by my PCP. Dr. Mark Blechner clearly articulated that I had spinal stenosis and a ruptured disk in the L4-L5 vertebras. Was promptly scheduled for a surgery at LMH after several visits and on-site conversations with the doctor. This was my first experience with any sort of surgery and I was a bit nervous. Dr. Blechner was courteous, articulate and highly concerned about my post-surgery progress, which has been difficult but I am not experiencing NEARLY as much pain and discomfort. Dr Blechner has a refined sense of humor, which made for unusually enjoyable visits. Office staff is very friendly and prompt. Still seeing Dr Mark Blechner for pain management.
Description of Work: Referred to by my PCP for lower back and leg pain. Dr Mark Blechner performed a L4-L5 decompression in August of 2009. On going Pain Management.
