Mr. Stanley gave us reasonable quote, and the crew showed up a week later. On the first day they removed the old asphalt, smoothed the area, and laid a good gravel base. The second day they paved from top to bottom, including an additional parking space near the street, and they also expanded our back-up area at the top. He used a specific type of asphalt for steep slopes that will help with winter traction. We've been through our first winter with the new driveway, plowing and shoveling is so much easier! I would highly recommend them, and would definitely use them again.

Excellent. This is a company that I have used before and would use again. I believe the owner is present on all jobs and he is very knowledgeable and professional. All work is warrantied for one year, so I do have to call them about one area of the driveway that has formed a and quot;dipand quot;. I will add to this review when I make the call and the work is performed. So far...very happy and I think they will stand by their work!

Before paving, they removed the old driveway and some old piping that was used to defrost accumulating ice. The piping was old and I was happy to have it removed. bhtey had to remove ice defrosting piping under old pavement before putting down new driveway. This was discussed wheh the job was priced out. In the process, the pipe that led to my basement sump pump was cut. I'm sure it was in error and no one realized it until the driveway was finished and the first big rainstorm came. The sump pump piping is white and was very obviously different than the piping used for the ice defrosting. Anyone with the experience of Stanley Paving should have noticed the sump pump pipe. The sump pump was supposed to drain from the basement through an underground pipe to the end of the driveway at the street. Because the pipe was cut, all the water accummulated near my house and has caused a sink hole. I called Stanley Paving three times - they denied that they did it I(it is obvious that they did) and they haven't come to see it. I certainly expected that a reputable company would repair this damage. They undoubtedly have insurance. My beautiful new driveway now has a large water hole which will undoubtedly grow larger and larger.

They were recommended by three friends who had actually used them. The owner is Gary Stanley. I got in touch with Angie List to know what rating they have got. I don't want to give more than a 'B' grading to them, because they did the work and the very next day there was a very heavy rain which washed away the dirt underneath the black asphalt, leaving a gap. If somebody drove a car over in that particular area, the whole thing would have caved in, so we called them up and they came back and they put gravel under it, whereas they probably should have done gravel in the first place. Although the gravel is functional but it is not going to last, because it is not symmetrical. The gravel is just on one side, hoping the other side does not give in. I had hoped that they would have foreseen that before they put the asphalt so that we did not have to windup having that little fix-up. They were good in coming back for the work but I did not want the fix-up. Day before yesterday my husband came back from work and was furious when he saw that there was another cave in. He asked me to talk to them on the phone, saying that he would not be able to speak politely to them. So they came the very next day and did a little bit of a patch job which looks okay. The guy was nice and pleasant . When he came the second time, we told him that we wanted the driveway extended a little bit up above, because we used to dock a boat up there and do not have the boat anymore, so why don't we just extend the driveway and get rid of the gravel. they said okay tell you what, we will do that extension and keep the price at $ 6700 at which point we agreed. So in terms of all these proceedings they were pleasant to deal with and they did come back immediately the few times that we had to call them. I guess they cannot foresee every problem and the gravel that they have put now is going to be a sturdy fix, though it is not symmetrical. I wish the gravel was not there, because we cannot drive on it, as the pieces of gravel are too big and grey. Their price was competitive because we had got a quote of $ 10,000 from another guy. I would recommend them to a friend but would also tell them that I had a couple of issues with them.

The only issue we had was ended up being due to rain and they came out and repaired it immediately free of charge.

He did a good job. We had some rain during the period and they wanted to let it dry. They underestimated the amount of asphalt needed and they had to run out and get some more. They cleaned up very nicely.
