Geoffrey Prentiss Moving

He complained about everything, he was kind of just a jerk about everything...I used him last year and it was like night and day! He left me in a very bad situation without my stuff being moved. He wasn't willing to renegotiate with us or anything. He was very inconvenient.

Geoffrey and his partner were amazing! He works hard and fast. You'll get your money's worth.

No issues.  These guys hustled - quickly moved the boxes that I had int he basement to fill nearly every square inch of their track (looked like an old snap on tool truck with power lift gate) and drove it to my new place on the other side of town then moved the boxes to where I needed them.  My only grip is they moved so fast that some boxes did not wind up int he rooms that they were marked but that was not a big deal.  I was so happy with these guys that I ordered them PIzzas after for thier hard work.  I offered them beer but they only took soda as I recall.  These were just two skinny guys but don't let appearances fool you - they work hard and fast!

If there was a grade higher than an "A," I would give it to Geoffrey and his team. What an excellent job they did. We were under a crunch due to a quick closing on a house, and Geoffrey came through by staying flexible with his time, staying in touch, arriving punctually, doing the work perfectly and neatly, and charging a very reasonable rate. All the while, I appreciated his cheerful attitude and quick wit. He kept things light while I was in the middle of a stressful situation. I would DEFINITELY hire Geoffrey again. He's honest, dependable, and does a fabulous job. Thank you, Geoffrey. You were one of our angels during a difficult time.

Jeff was easy to reach and returned my calls promptly.  He called the day of to let me know he would be at my house in 15 minutes.  He was friendly, courteous, polite, and professional.  He was easy to work with and did everything just the way I wanted it done.  They handled everything with care.  The work was done quickly and efficiently.  I would definitely hire him again.

While waiting for my mortgage approval I wanted to have a mover scheduled so after reading the reviews of movers on Angie's list I contacted Jeofrey Prentiss from Manchester. Mr. Prentiss was prompt in returning my call and I scheduled a move date. Of course, when waiting for a mortgage approval and a closing date, delays are inevitable. Over the course of 3 weeks I had to contact Mr. Prentiss to reschedule the moving date twice. Each time, Mr. Prentiss was very understanding and accommodating, pleasant and friendly on the phone. Mr Prentiss and his assistant showed up as scheduled, and moved my belongings carefully, efficiently, without delays, completing the job within 5 hours at a very reasonable rate.
I would recommend Mr. Prentiss as well as use his services again if I ever needed a mover.

Everything went great! I wished I knew about Prentiss Moving sooner and used them for my entire move rather than hiring the much more expensive and somewhat less professional crew from Father and Sons moving (Wallingford based), They were very nice guys and very hard workers. My only minor complaint is that they made me a little nervous when they shook some boxes to see if there were any glass items in them that were fragile. Maybe this is a safe test of packing quality but I know my wife was a bit nervous when she saw this. Also, I saw them rolling a box (in a very controlled way) down the stairs. It was quite heavy and full of books but I would think that a hand truck may have been a better solution. My advice is to pack things well and to point out things that are more fragile. Also be considerate and don't pack heavy things into large boxes. Keep books and other heavy things in small and medium boxes and save the largest boxes for lighter things. Overall highly recommended for any local small to medium move and worth consulting on larger moves. I'm not sure if these guys will go long haul but you can always ask.

We were told that the move would start at 9:00 AM from my son's apartment. We were ready and waiting. They are now 45 minutes late and no show or call. I called him and left a message. I soon got a call back. He said that he had completely forgotten about our move and was busy with another move to New Hampshire. He also said that he and his family have been sick lately and it has messed up his job scheduling.

We agreed that when he was finished with the move he's currently working on, he'll do ours and that it probably wouldn't happen until late in the day or evening. He did call later and arrived at about 6:00 PM and was very apologetic. The job was then done swiftly and professionally. When it came time for payment, he graciously said to pay him what we think the job was worth instead of the agreed price. A nice gesture on his part. I felt bad for him and he tried to make it up to me, so I only took $20 off the original deal.

If it wasn't for him forgetting to schedule us, he would've gotten A's across the board.

This is the third time I have used Mr. Prentiss for moving and he is now the person I call first anytime I need assistance moving. He and EJ are highly reliable and trustworthy movers who are experienced and thoughtful problem solvers. In February 2013 they moved us from our former apartment in a 3 story walk up to our new house. They made this move happen in after a big snow on a narrow street when another company had previously left us high and dry (they seemed afraid of the job). They were careful with furniture items yet worked efficiently. My wife and I were very pleased with their responsiveness and professionalism.
Mr. Prentiss has a large box truck and a full set of tools in case a piece of furniture or appliance needs to be disassembled in order to move. Mr. Prentiss and EJ are professional and personable and have earned my repeat business. I highly recommend them.

It went well. The owner squeezed us in before his vacation and did everything we expected. Was a tremendous help since it was only my boyfriend and I moving from the top floor of the apartment complex. There were stairs and elevators to manuever around and they handled our belongings with care.

Geoff and EJ showed up on time and were polite and professional. They worked hard and were very reasonably priced. I would have given them an 'A' but there was some minor damage done to both a bureau and the walls and floor of our new house. Overall, they were excellent and you really can't beat the price. This is an ideal mover for people without expensive furniture.

They were very efficient, fast and pleasant to work with. Geoffrey and EJ were fast, focussed, and friendly. They placed the items exactly where I asked them to. The only concern I had was that they didn't put my bed back together. Overall, I was highly satisfied.

It went very well. Geoff and his one assistant handled everything carefully and thoroughly with a friendly attitude. I couldn't have asked for more and the price was reasonable. I was happy to add tips for the two men. Before the move he asked me intelligent questions about what would be involved and gave me an estimate of 450- 500 so I was very pleased when the job came in for less. The men were energetic and cooperative and were amenable to any changes I asked for. I would definitely use them again and I may need to. Geoff confirmed the move the day before and he showed up on time for the job. It was completed ina reasonable period of time also.

They were on time, professional, friendly, & polite. They worked quickly & did an excellent job.
