"Mr. [Member Name Removed] was informed since 2013 that his generator was burning oil on extended power outage due to the age of the engine and that that it needed to be replaced. He did not wish to replace the unit which was his decision. He continued to maintain the unit over the years which allowed him to use it for short outages without issue, but when the August 2019 extended power outage occurred the issue we had warned him about arose. His unit is over 20 years old and has exceeded it's life expectancy due to his continuous yearly maintenance."
