Stacey was on time and professional during the planning and design phase of the project.  She delivered plans that on the surface looked complete and professional and we paid for her services.  Those plans were then given to my builder who took the plans, quoted the project and lined up all the contractors.

That is where the positive experience ended and the nightmare began.  Every phase of this construction project has been one problem after another because of the lack of attention to detail that Stacey put into preparing  the plans.

The first problem was with the construction of the foundation.  She designed the foundation to be 8 ft ceiling height when my current basement is only 7.5 ft.  This caused problems with the footings, pitch elevation for the plumbing, and the height clearance for the Bilco door entrance to the basement.  A problem that would have been identified if she simply measured my current basement height.

Then the floor was being constructed and in the sitting area there was suppose to be a bay "area" that went from the floor to the ceiling with windows.  Instead, Stacey put a  Bay "Window" in the plans which is a completely different look and it changes the dimensions and feel of the room.  Again. I specifically pointed that detail out to her because I currently have a bay area in my kitchen and she "loved" the idea.

Then came time to order the windows....the builder ordered the windows directly from the plans using Stacey's ,material list with product specs and numbers.  When the windows arrived, they were the wrong style and design and do not match the current windows that I have in my home.  My current windows have grills in between the panes and these have the cheap attachment ones from the inside.  My grills are 6 over 6 in design and she decided that 12 over 12 would "look better" so that is was she put in the plans.  Now I have windows that cost me over $15000 that don't match the current style of my home and that I can't return because they are custom.  Keep in mind that Stacey entered my house 3 times to see our style and took pictures of the inside and outside of the house and still missed this very important detail.

The windows was the last straw and the reason for the first time in my life I decided to write a negative review.   After bringing the issue of the windows to her attention, her response was to blame the builder for ordering the materials before checking with me to make sure they were right.  Let me get this straight...she designs the plans, she put the specific material list together with actual make and model numbers of the windows and the builder is to check with me to make sure the windows or correct???  You can't make this up...how am I suppose to know the make and model of a window that has been in my house for 15 years, you would assume that after being in my house, seeing my windows, taking pictures of my windows and drawing the plans, she would have gotten that detail correct.

Stacey never offered to pay for the mistake or for the replacement cost of the windows...she simply wanted to chalk this experience up to "lack of proper communication."  Well...let me make sure I never make that mistake twice.  So allow me the opportunity to "properly communicate" my feelings for the experience I had working with Stacey Keaney.  I would NEVER recommend Stacey Keaney to anyone for any design work or plan development.  She is simply not qualified to call herself a professional in her craft...she is an amateur at best.
