OMG describes this job that he took on. My mother was a hoarder of the most extreme kind, and after her stroke in the summer of 2013, I got the inhuman job of cleaning out the house for sale. My husband and others who came into the house described the sheer mess and decades of collected crap as nothing they would have believed if they hadn't seen it for themselves! I worked on it for 3 months with friends because there were so many hidden and important items to locate, but fall was fast coming, and we still had a bit less than half of the original volume of stuff to go. Time to call in the pros! Marc and his crew arrived on time, worked thru an early day storm that left everyone soaked, and kept at it for about 9 hours without a break. The job turned out to be more massive than it initially appeared, but we came to an amicable agreement on how to handle it, and he even cut up and took out a wall to wall wool rug that was so heavy no one could lift it! He works with a team of guys who bring in bags and just clear out everything. They pack it into cube vans, floor to ceiling, so that the max can be taken with each load. My parent's driveway is just the worst you can imagine, but they took it in stride, parking on the side of the road and walking all the stuff out. That's primarily why it took longer than he'd planned. I think his method of having one van for potential saleables and another for junk to be very effiecient. He was very caring, seemed genuinely concerned with making sure I didn't get ripped off or overlook items that elderly people tend to stash everywhere. A large part of his business is selling the valuables for you, though I didn't make use of this service. He knows alot of people and possible buyers for things; a lifesaver for someone like me who lives several states away and knows no one in the area.
I hope I never have to do anything of this kind ever again in this life, but if I did, and the house was in Connecticut, I would call him again in a second (and I'd call him much much earlier in the process than I did this time!.
