Starting out as a sandblaster back in the early 1980's, he used to work restoring the historic Victorian homes of Southport, CT. He eventually worked his way from restoring the exteriors to restoring the interiors. His experience in these historic homes has led to his experience in all aspects of interior and exterior painting as well as interior wood staining and specialty finishes. Seeing the lack of quality in the workmanship offered by other painting companies, Charles created Marquis Painting LLC with the tagline "Quality Workmanship". Within his first year, he was known as one of the highest quality painting contractors in the area. His eye for detail and customer service has led to Marquis Painting consistently having a 6 month waiting list , solely on his customers referrals. Do to his emphasis on "Quality"; Charles has made his "customer service " a priority equal to the quality of his work. Most customers become more than just clients. They come to feel like Charles is their "friend in the business". “I like to treat my clients as I would want to be treated. I find that at the end of each job, my relationship with clients is at a friendship level. I'm a people person and I think it's important to make sure that the client's experience during the job process is as easy and stress free as possible."
