Gene is quite literally the most unprofessional person I have ever come in contact within the service industry. He shows up unannounced without an appointment being set up. I was not home at the time and pulled in to find him peeping inside my windows (which were open), and yelling into the home. My neighbor told me that he was banging on the door for 5 minutes (again, I was not home and we had no appointment set up) and then he prompted to look in both my kitchen window and BEDROOM window. So unprofessional. He also charged an arm and a leg for changing an air filter that is $10 at the home maintenance store and spent a total of 8 minutes doing work.

Gene was great. Showed up on time. Quickly diagnosed the issue and our unit was up and running. Highly recommend.

I was so disappointed in Gene. He is a wonderful person, but just didnt really have the expertise in the HVAC system I needed help with. Wish he was just honest with that point from the beginning so I could find an expert and not waste his time or mine. Late last summer I had one of four splits stop pumping AC. He came, and after reading the manual and calling the HVAC system manufacturer, determined the main board needed replacing. Over $600 in charges and the winter season later, I go to turn on the AC this spring and get heat on all four splits. HEAT. I tried to re-engage Gene to return and make it right, but he quite literally refused to come back, claimed he wouldnt be able to come soon enough. I was astonished. I called another vendor off the certified HVAC system manufacturer contractors list who came the same day, whacked the three-way valve with their screwdriver, and boom - AC starts pumping all over the house. In addition, I told the new service agent the story of the single unit not running AC last summer and that Gene diagnosed it as the main board being defective. He said no way that makes sense. The main board controls all the units, so if just one wasnt working right it was probably a communication issue not the board. In the end, I found myself an expert on the HVAC system, and a reliable service agent for both our mini splits and annual furnace tune up/emergency contract.

I worked with Gene (owner) on my project. He was excellent from a troubleshooting perspective.......great on the diagnosis.......starting with the simple first and progressing into the job. I highly recommend Bertanza!

Our gas furnace pump was not working. So we purchase a new one and tried to install, but it still was not working. â The heat was working , but the pump was not pumping out the water. We called Eugene to Service and fix the pump problem. He told me that the pipe to the pump was clogged, and he did not like the way the pipe was positioned coming out the furnace. So he made an adjustment. â One hour and ten minutes later , He charged us $460.00! Rip OFF! I asked Eugene, â how much do you charge an hour?â He stated that $260 was the service fee (to stand there) and the $200 was for unclogging pipe, redirecting the pipe and vacuum the little water on the floor. Minus the filter and the pump my husband bought. So around 8:00 PM that evening, on one of the coldest night of the year (16 degrees), the heat went out! I called Eugene and he tried to troubleshoot over the phone. Nothing worked, so we had to freeze until he came the next day. Now he says it is the switch. So now he charges us again, even though my husband asked him how much for the switch, he should of refuse to take the money. But Noooooooo..! So the heat stayed on for one night only and it stop working again on another freezing night! So we had to call someone else to do the job and he said there was nothing wrong with the â switch that he replaced. The wires were a little loose and they needed to be tighten. REALLY! So I guess the service that was charged ($260) did not see the loose wires. â NEVER, EVER, AGAIN WILL I CALL THIS RIP OFF COMPANY! Make sure you know the details of a service charge! SMH.

Great experience... very professional. I called late on a Thursday and they were at my door the next day. A/C was shot (expected that due to it's age) and they had a new one installed and working by Monday afternoon!

I made the appointment at 12:30 for 1:30 and they showed up on time. They were helpful and knowledgeable. They quickly diagnosed the problem and had the necessary tools and materials to fix it. My AC system is running great now!

Extras were too costly; some should have been included as part of the $150 service call. Especially, $80 for fre-on (sp). !! Serviceman was very pleasant and helpful.
