Fred is probably one of the most polite, punctual, and dependable contractors I've ever worked with. He always showed up on time, cleaned up after himself, did it within the projected cost, and, most importantly, our kitchen floor that he fixed blended seamlessly with the rest as if nothing ever happenned! Perfectly. I've used Fred for small and large jobs and they have each been perfect. He demoed our old kitchen and built a very high end kitchen for us that , five years later, still looks like new. In our old house in Westport Fred did extensive trim work through out the house as well as renovated a bathroom from the studs out. Fred is reliable, honest and above all else a master craftsman. He will only do a job the right way so if you're looking to cut corners he many not be right for you. I'm a perfectionist and so is Fred. Fred's team have the same outlook. There is only one way to do a job and that is the correct way. I'll use Fred and his team for years to come.

Fred is an absolute professional. It was a true pleasure to work with him. He listened to our thoughts and suggestions and added much value by contributing his own ideas as well. We couldn't be happier with the end result. His fine carpentry skills are exceptional, and his attention to detail is superb. On a day to day basis, he always arrived on time and in a great mood. Fred Rottjer has worked in my home for the last 15 years as a general contractor and carpenter. He is a ... ****fine cabinet maker (Fred built cabinets in two bathrooms, the master bedroom and guest bedroom, and the kitchen) ****kitchen and bath remodeler (Fred worked with my designer to build and install new kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, to design and build a kitchen island, to install granite and mahogany counter tops and backsplash tiles, and to complete all plumbing and electrical work.) ****general carpenter (When needed, Fred works with an experienced crew of tradesmen, including carpenters, electricians, plumbers, stone cutters and others to complete large and smaller jobs.) I have been living in Westport, Connecticut for about 25 years and learned long ago that you get what you pay for when you buy cheap in home repair. Before I found Fred Rottjer, I hired two different contractors to repair a mold-filled master bathroom shower. These contractors offered a terrific price, but didn't know what they were doing. Fred charged more than they did, but finally fixed the problem. In other words, don't expect Fred to come in with the lowest bid, but expect that his work will solve your problem and create lasting beauty at the highest level of craftsmanship. HE WAS INCREDIBLY PROFESSIONAL FOR A CONTRACTOR. HE SHOWS UP ON TIME ALL THE TIME AND CALLS WHEN HE'S GOING TO BE LATE AND DOES ALL THE WORK HIMSELF OR WITH PEOPLE HE'S WORKED WITH FOR 10 OR 13 YEARS. HE DOESN'T USE DAY LABOR.
