I picked this provider based on the recommendation of several relatives who had used them, as well as the good reports I read on Angie's List. To start, I'd have to say this their work is excellent. I have a beautiful driveway that I expect to have for many years. The cost was expensive, but fair for the work that was done. The only complaint I have is that the company seems to have some difficulty in scheduling their work. I signed a contract on August 27, 2013 for the work to be done and was told by the owner that he expected to be able to complete the job before the end of the season, barring any unusual weather. He did not guarantee that it would be done, but expected it would be done. We had unusually good weather that fall and I expected a finished driveway before the weather got cold. I made several contacts with the owner throughout the fall, asking when the job would start. They did not begin the work until November and it was quite obvious by that time that the job would not be done until the spring of 2014. As it was explained to me, having the driveway settle through the winter would insure a better base, and if the owner had put it to me that way from the beginning, I would probably have instructed them to wait until spring to install the asphalt. As it was, I felt frustrated in the waiting.
If my review were based on the quality of the job, I would rate J Fragale & Sons as "excellent". Taking into account the delay in getting the job done and the unfulfilled expectation of having it done before winter, the overall experience was much less than excellent.
If I have another project involving asphalt, I would certainly contract with J Fragale & Sons, but I would not expect the job to be done quickly.
"Thank you for your kinds words, it was a pleasure working with you and [removed member name]. Please do not hesitate to call me should you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Dan Fragale"
