Fit To Finish Wood Flooring
About us
I started Fit to Finish Wood Flooring in 1997 after 10+ years experience working in the wood flooring trade. I operate as a Sole Proprietor, which means I am personally on every job, and take sole responsibility for the finished product. I do on certain occasions bring in extra help in the form of a subcontractor to help with installation work. This normally occurs on larger jobs. I have been licensed by the State of Connecticut since I started my business. My license number is 00558703. I am also fully insured through The Hartford Insurance Co. Estimates are always free and if you mention you found me on Angie's List I will take 5% of the quoted price.

"Thank you very much [Member Name Removed] I'm glad you are pleased with the work!"
Scott called me back the same day that I called him. He came two days later. He said he would be there early afternoon and call when he was on the road. He called in advance and he arrived on time. I had called 4 other floor refinishers. Only one other called back and that price was more than double Scott's. I found Scott to be very professional. He finished sanding and did one coat of finish that day. Because I wanted a water base finish, it dried quickly and he did the remaining two coats the next day, taking just a long enough break in between to ensure it was dry before the next coat. The floor looks fabulous. He is obviously experienced at what he does and the job was excellent. I have two more floors to do in the house and will definitely call him to do them. I could not have asked for a better or more professional job.
Scott and his son returned on the next Tuesday (on time) and did the sanding and the first coat of polyurethane . Scott returned on Thursday for the second coat and on Friday for the final coat.
He instructed me to stay off it for the next two days so it could dry and to be careful the next week or so until it cured.
The floor is in a very old house (circa 1860) and the boards were narrow tongue and grove and showed a lot of wear. Scott did an excellent job cleaning up the old floor. There were a couple of stains that he could not remove, but most of the stains were removed.
I chose a oil based polyurethane as Scott advised it would better match the flooring in the room that leads into the room I had done,
"Thank you for the kind words and for introducing me to Angie's List. This is really a great way to find a reputable contractor. I plan to fill up this section with more reports just like yours. I hope you are enjoying your new floors! Thanks again, Scott"
