I'm building a new house. I really want plaster in some rooms because I love the look and finish. I see the Zordan & Sons truck around all the time and have actually met one of the owners on multiple occasions. Seems like a nice enough guy. LAST YEAR I tried to get him to come out and have a look at my house... always too busy. After getting frustrated that I couldn't get him to come look, I searched for other providers and met with similar circumstances - no one has time. Finally, I went back to Zordan and got his cell phone so I could text/call him directly. He mentioned he could come out last Saturday - maybe. On Saturday, I asked if we were still on. He said, "maybe". I responded that I needed to know so I could make sure he could get into the house. He responded with "Monday 5:00". I explained I wouldn't be available that day and asked if there were any other days later in the week. This is the text chain that followed: Zordan: We can meet any day I believe around that time Me: How about Wednesday at 5? Zordan: Ok that might work what's the address? At this point, I called and said, "Might? Can we pick a date and time that's definitive?" At this point, Zordan said something like, "Look, I'm not a f****** doctor... my schedule changes according to whatever job I'm working." While I can appreciate the complexities of a career in plaster, I'm fairly certain it's possible to plan a week in advance and set aside a date/time to meet with someone who wants to give you money. I texted the address and received "Thank you" Yesterday - Wednesday...this happened: Me: Are you able to make 5 today? Zordan: No iam on vacation I have a 4600 square foot house. It's not a mansion in Fairfield County, but it's a decent size home. I said in the beginning of the review I have a few rooms I'd like plastered... but without getting a quote, I can't say how many. I haven't a sense of price. I may be able to afford to plaster ALL the rooms - who knows? I don't. And I suppose I never will as my experience with one other plaster contractor was almost identical right down to the rude. I will not waste any further time with Zordan. If you have read this far and are still contemplating plaster, I encourage you to find an alternate solution. I DID get a great response from a company in Uncasville in that they spent lots of time on the phone answering a bunch of questions, but Uncasville is so far to travel, it's cost prohibitive for them to come to me.
