Do not hire or call this guy. If he calls you, don’t return the call. This guy is a con man scammer. He is looking to do little work and steal your money. He doesn’t do the work himself and hires out to hacks. He then makes up stories and will try to turn it around on you. Do yourself a favor and take everyone’s reviews as truth because I didn’t and now this jerk ripped me off.

Run....run as fast as you can to get away from Nordstrom painting. After Dave gave me a reasonable price it was all down hill from there. They were the messiest contractor I have ever dealt with...there was paint and spackle everywhere. I spent 2 days cleaning woodwork and patching wallpaper they had damaged. Dave and his guys never finished the work and blocked my phone # after he was paid. Was supposed to return the next day to finish and just didn't show. 2 days later a guy he had working for him showed up to see if I had talked with Dave because Dave had also blocked his phone # and had not paid him. Dave continually told me he would be at the jobsite and always had an excuse why he wasn't there. The exterior has many, many, drips and trim paint was partially coated twice. The third floor dormers were barely touched and looked awful. Dave had claimed they would scrape and sand to make everything look smooth and they did very little. In the end I had to hire another company to fix what Dave and his guys and done.

As it turned out Dave was the most dishonest, least quality contractor I have ever worked with. Oh yea, Dave has also never returned the keys to my house or my shed...I had to change locks as I believe Dave to be a criminal.

I don't usually write reviews but I want to warn my fellow Angie's List members about this business. Based on the referral by one of our good friends we contacted Nordstrom's to paint a few of the rooms for our new home. To be fair he had done a great job on their home and he quickly came out and gave us a reasonable price for the work that we wanted done. The first time he came out to paint he did so by himself and painted one of the rooms which actually came out really well. The second time he came he brought someone else with him to try to get two rooms done in one day. I'm not sure if it was because of rushing through the work ???? (6 hours to do 2 rooms- a 2 story living room and a large bathroom) but we now have excess paint on the walls from too much paint on the paint rollers in one room and paint on the ceilings, bathtub, and trim in the bathroom. I took pictures which I was hoping to be able to upload on this site as evidence. In speaking with Dave we raised these issues and he tried to tell us the excess paint in the living room was because the last person who painted the room did it ....not him. He said he would take a look next time he came out to finish the other work. He canceled his next two scheduled days and then never called us back. Aside from the quality issues this was the other issue we encountered which was that over the course 4 weeks (which to be honest included the week of Xmas to New Years which we were away) we would make arrangements to work from home during the week so that he could come over and then he would cancel. This occurred at least 4 times that I can think of off the top of my head, we heard a variety a reasons why he couldn't make it. He even canceled on weekends he scheduled himself to come over. My favorite reason was our last communication with him where he told us that the foreman on another job canceled and he had to go there instead... after we had made arrangements again to be home that day. At that point he said he had the following week off and they he would take a day and definitely come over. I called and left a message to have him call me back and its been over a month, I am not holding my breathe that I am going to get a return call back, nor would I want one. At this point its a waste of time because we went ahead and painted the other rooms he was supposed to paint. Its sad because we have had two other friends ask for a reference for a painter since they knew we were hiring someone and we had to tell both of them to find someone else because we don't recommend Nordstrom's Painting.

I really had no idea what to expect because I had only spoken to David on the phone. He didn't come to my home to evaluate the job. He asked specifics and I also supplied him with some photos of what area(s) needed to be worked on. I did, however, have a good feeling during my initial call with David. He sounded very professional and provided me with several references.
He lived up to the great references, if not exceeded my expectations. He was true to his word with a timing estimate, punctuality and his honor. It's sad to say, but this isn't usually the case when dealing with an unknown vendor of services. There have been times (because I'm a woman) where people find it easy to take advantage of someone's lack of knowledge and that usually equates to more $$$ than the original estimate. So, I can't say enough about what a positive experience this was for me. A real breath of fresh air.
David was also very conscientious about protecting my furniture and artwork. He's really good at what he does.
David quoted me a price for the days work and when I asked for help with some odds and ends, he didn't charge me. His philosophy was: "we'll, I'm here and there is time ( in between 1st and 2nd coat) so why would I charge you extra?" David is an honorable man who is hardworking and really prides himself on the quality of his work. I also might add that David lives on the MA/CT border but told me he would pretty much travel to most areas of MA (for those of you in the MA area)
In addition to painting services, David is proficient with carpentry work. I will be using David again for all of my upcoming projects.
I'm psyched that I have someone that I can call whom I trust. It's a good feeling.
I would highly recommend.

After recently moving into a home we contacted every painter within our area on Angie’s List. None were available within the time frame we sought. We extended our search to Craig’s List and came across Nordstrom’s Painting and Handyman Services. They happened to have a cancellation and were able fit us in. We were lucky they did. We chose to provide the paint/materials ourselves, and the project took three weeks (including most weekends).
We could not be happier with Dave, his father, and their crew. It was apparent from the amount of time dedicated to preparing every area, that they were professionals. Dave and his crew averaged nine hour days, and painted the rooms around our schedule. We originally only considered the upper floor, but after seeing the terrific job they did, we asked if they would stay to
complete the first floor as well. Dave had several recommendations about paint finishes that he had used on other
projects that we felt really made a difference.
As the project progressed there were other small projects we asked if Dave could complete. These included repairs to a ceiling after a plumber needed to gain access to a drain, patching several areas where ceiling speakers had once installed, and installation of a ceiling fan. We worked out a price with Dave as each new item presented itself.
Always pleasant and professional we have already recommended Dave to friends and family.

DAve Nordstrom was fantastic. He was professional, courteous, kind, and knowledgable. Dave's quote was very reasonable and included all the materials needed for the job! He showed up onetime and insisted the job when he said he would!! I am planning on having him build a deck and power wash my entire house this spring!!

Dave, was very quick to return my call and come out and give me an estimate. His price was very reasonable. He was very efficient, well mannered, and most importantly neat. I would highly recommend Nordstrom's Painting for all your painting needs.
