"Post by Scott Cassin, owner of company... Please read the above review very carefully and consider our response as there are two sides to this story, like there always are. Firstly the reason we charge the balance owed just before the job date if the customer is paying by credit card is to assure we actually will be paid. Too many times we have completed the work and returned to our office to charge the card only to have it declined. When this happens we have literally been robbed and that is simply not acceptable so we now run the card a few days prior to the job. We do this in good faith and it has never been an issue for any customer to this point. This customer fails to mention that when I explained why we do this he said he understood and was comfortable since the job was only a few days away. As to the problem with the work, the customer clearly states that upon informing me of the leak in his plumbing I offered to pay for a plumber of his choosing to fix the problem since I could not (would not) get there on a weekend as he more or less demanded. Had he simply taken the chance to hire another plumber at my expense he could have had the problem fixed in 2 hours instead of stubbornly standing his ground to no avail. What he clearly wanted was me to go over there and fix the leak personally so that he could feel triumphant and be able to say that he got what he demanded. Not happening. My viewpoint is that If I'm paying the bill what difference could it possibly make who actually fixes the leak? Given his refusal to hire another plumber to fix the leak at my expense (only one out of the 3 sinks we connected for him leaked) I decided the best thing was to refund ALL then money he paid us for plumbing, even for the two sinks that did not leak. He did not ask for this extra refund, I simply paid it on my own since he obviously was not going to be pacified with anything less. He did reply via email to me that this was acceptable and that he would consider that a solution to the problem. He leaves that point out of his report. At that point I consider us square. All money has been refunded, problem solved. Let's see... an immediate offer to pay for a legitimate remedy was refused and a refund above & beyond what the customer paid for was issued in lieu of that. Sounds pretty fair, no? Where actually is the problem? We are extremely good at what we do as the other reports here make clear. We try to be fast & reasonable in the event something is not to a customer's liking. Sometimes simply refunding the customer's money and parting company is best thing for everyone and that is what happened here. The other reports here speak for themsleves, as does the first part of the complainer's report. One other report here mentions a problem and an acceptable remedy so it is clear we do stand by our work. We feel this customer overreacted to a very simple problem and was offered two extremely fast and appropriate remedies, neither of which was apparently to his liking thus the negative report."
