$350
I called this company for an estimate to pull vinyl tile up from my
basement floor and finish a wall adjacent to the stairs. We agreed upon a
price of $190 for the floor and $150 for the stairs. We also agree upon
a completion date of 11/16. We signed a contract to that effect
agreeing that he would complete the work and then provide all the
necessary supplies for the work.
The tile was not completed until
11/18 at 11pm at night. The stairs were completed on 11/27 also at 11pm
at night. He charged me an additional $10 for the wood and nails he used
for the stairs as well(not agreed upon in the contract). The work
completed does not meet my standards for the price that I paid and the
stairs were not completed as agreed upon. I provided most of the
materials for the completion of the stairs as what he brought with him
was old wood that was dirty and looked a little rotted. It was
definitely not purchased for the completion of this project, just
something he had hanging around the house. He cut all the wood in my
basement and did not clean up any of the mess left behind. There was
sawdust everywhere in my basement and I am left to clean it up. The same with the tile, he told me he would haul it away and instead it was all placed in my garbage pails that I had to dispose of. Additionally he did not clean up any of the remaining tile pieces in the basement nor did he sweep of vacuum any of the dust. That was also left to me to complete.
He was never punctualThe , showing up somewhere between a half hour to an hour and a half later than he said he would be at my house and in some cases he showed up unexpected to complete the work on a Sunday when I was already on my way out for the day.
The whole experience was very bad and I would not go with him in the future. Next time I will do the work myself, since I ended up doing most of the post work myself.
