All My Sons just moved us this past Tuesday (11/30). 5 movers were supposed to show. 4 came. Upon arrival the movers told my wife they each receive 15%-20% tips of the total cost of the move. I did tell my AMS rep Gary about this and he apologized and advised to give them a more appropriate tip. Today (Friday, 12/3), I went to the house and found furniture and pictures which were supposed to be moved, left behind. Our furnitue is now in pod storage so I had to make arrangements to store these elsewhere. I also found out today my ASM rep Gary was already told by my wife about this situation as well as a missing pair of her expensive gloves. He spoke to her dismissively and unprofessionally saying "we never leave anything behind" and to "call the police" about her missing gloves. I think I might do just that and have them contact ASM. Overall I was a surrealistically bad experience trusting this company with our move. They were going to move our furniture into our new home in a few months. After what I learned today, Gary and All My Sons moving are fired. Do yourself a favor and choose another company.

All My Sons provided a move for me on 9/15/2020. I thought the move went well, with helpful movers to the point that I offered the movers $80 tip each. It was a large move - we went to a storage unit, and to another location before coming to my house and then to the final location. But when I went through my stuff after the movers left, my King Size bed had the back of the headboard ripped off and one of the posts at the bed broken off (not including innumerous nicks) and my computer table had been split in two. Both damage that I would have thought the movers would have alerted me to. I contacted All My Sons, and they have no offered .... $210 for the damage. That's $210 to replace a King Size bed and a computer desk. Both purchased within the last 2 years so not old pieces. I find the offer insulting and moreover, dishonest. The staff that All My Sons were obviusly aware of the damage and said NOTHING. I really should have looked at All my Sons review with a discerning eye, and not their A- BBB rating and now I am paying the price for it. What is worse is that they made it a point to let me know they were insured as a plus point, and that damage would be addressed. Utterly pathetic

There are not high enough ratings to describe my experience with All my Sons! The four gentlemen who came to help me move were incredible. They were excellent at their job, incredibly respectful and professional and truly made it feel like I was dealing with a small family run business. This move was unbelievably nightmarish as we were dealing with removing an estate out of a terrible auction house. All my Sons were placed in a situation where they were having to work under terribly stressful and disrespectful conditions around people who were horrible to them. They were moving antiques, a piano and tons of breakables. Everything arrived safely and in perfect condition. All this while, They had a dog growling at them and hateful people taunting them and pressuring them. All my Sons could have looked at me and dismissed themselves several times and they would have been totally justified because of how they were being treated by these auction house people. Instead they remained steadfast in their duties, and only worked harder and faster to help me get my clients possessions back. They made me feel safe and secure as well. I also dealt with a gentleman named Samuel over the phone who organized the move and sent the movers out. He was so understanding of my difficult situation and sent me his very best and most efficient team. He followed up several times during the move and made sure that everything ran smoothly. In a time of tech and computer service that is constantly failing to leave anyone satisfied or feeling heard, this company is still full of honor and integrity. Bravo All my Sons Movers!!! You are one in a million and worth every penny! Thank you so much for your help! You went above and beyond and I will never forget it. Will never use or recommend any other company, All my Sons forever!!!!

WARNING...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! You will be sorry. You will absolutely REGRET it. You will have your property stolen. Valuable or not they will steal it. You will not be able to put your furniture back together, because the specific screws were not properly stored. You will be talked back to. They will leave garbage all over. They will take lots of breaks, cell phone, cigarettes, and primarily to discuss taking your furniture apart to be moved. (Furniture that is completely unnecessary to take apart, they are clearly trying to kill time to run the clock longer). And they also will ask to use your refrigerator to store their alcoholic beverages. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE More details.... Arrived on time, sent me 4 guys. When they got out of the truck, not friendly right off the bat. AND they looked like straight bum drug attics. Did a walk through. Starts the clock. Then I was set up. I had my personal bags next to me at all times, then I run upstairs to get tape, and the driver(is the one in charge) corners me upstairs away from my things to " have me go over and sign the contract", which included a a speech about a tip. I felt uncomfortable, like he was taking way longer than necessary to go over this. So as soon as he is done I come down to find my personal bags missing, when they were told not to touch them. I find them on the truck, and all my cash is missing. Hundreds of dollars. Within 40 minutes I was completely set up to be away from my things and flat out robbed. Hundreds of dollars. As if moving isn't stressful enough. Of course they all denied it. I call the cops , they can't do anything but ask them to empty their pockets and take a report. The boss is on the phone, doesn't even doubt what happened. Pulls them off the job, tells me he is sorry, and sends another crew. (When the first crew was released one of the crew kept insisting he get his drink out of my freezer. I refused to let them back in. I go get the beverage out of my fridge only to realize it's a MARGARITA IN A CAN! A full 16oz. UNBELIEVEABLE . So I wind up stuck using this same company because it was the 26th and I needed to be out by the 31st and every other company I called wasn't available until at least the third. So I was stuck. The new crew shows up and is clearly not happy to arrive. I am slightly sympathetic because they have to follow these last pieces of garbage that robbed me. The move starts again. My patience is just wearing so thin, when I have to keep checking on them. I find them stalling. Texting, pretending to do things. Flat out stalling. After hours of this I tell them we are done lets go. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!! Please save yourself and do not use this company. I beg you. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY . $1500 I paid to have a real life nightmare. Plus the money they stole.

Not as smoothly as I would have hoped for. They should consider visiting the premises before scheduling. Our move definitely would have gone quicker with a 4 man crew. Some minor damage was done to the place we were renting (old premises) which made me anxious when stuff was being moved into our new place. Also we had to move our date to one day later due to a closing date change. As prior customers it would have been great if they had late us stay with the price we started out with but we were charged a higher rate.

Every phone call to AMS was either answered or returned immediately. The initial quote came in higher than the job actually cost so we got a small refund, on the spot, once Mom and Dad were moved in. We were told to expect the team "between 9 and 10." The team was on our doorstep, ready to work, at 9 o'clock and 30 seconds. They took care with each piece of furniture, they minded the walls and railings in this old house, and took care unloading everything in the new place. AMS under-promised and over-delivered. Next time, if there's a next time, I won't call around. I'll just call them.

I needed an upright freezer and dough mixer moved from my restaurant to a new catering facility. Three men arrived on time and proceeded to expeditiously move my equipment without hesitation. They were absolute professionals and knew exactly what to do and how to handle these big,heavy pieces. They charge by the hour but the 3 men moved quickly and efficiently. Tim, the team leader, professionally explained how I was being billed and about the contract before I signed. The move was completed efficiently and stayed at the 2 hour minimum because of their quick work. I was completely satisfied with the move and will use them again when needed. I highly recommend All My Sons Moving and Storage for your next move.

Excellent service Alex Sullivan and his crew arrived on time and worked non stop. They are very professional, courteous and efficient. Alex was very professional and reassured me that they would do everything they could to make the move go smoothly and quickly. He did not disappoint me. Alex and his crew were great. If I need to move again I only want Alex and his crew to move me again!

Got estimates from many movers, some over the phone, some onsite. Got low $1,300 phone estimate from All My Sons, and then asked them to do an onsite estimate--it came out to be one Truck, 5 men, 9 hours, $190 per hour, travel hour, fuel surcharge--$2,094 estimate, total to be based upon actual hours expended. The estimator, Kurt seemed friendly and professional, so I chose them. Gave them the $500 deposit they required. I asked to see the inventory list but they said they could not provide, I let it go. >>><<<< Three days prior to the Wednesday move, got a call from a person named Sam, to confirm, addresses, etc. He said they would not unload my stuff from the truck unless I preauthorize a total estimated charge to my credit card before unloading. I said this was not explained by the estimator--he said it should have been. I said I did not agree, and he said it was not negotiable, a company requirement, and that it was industry practice. I said that's equivalent to holding the customer's stuff hostage. Since it is based upon actual hours, why not just unload and charge actual hours expended. He said that's how they did it, if I did not like it, then I can cancel. I said they were playing hardball--3 days before the move, how can I cancel. I asked to speak to the estimator who had come to the house. <<<>>>> This Kurt then called me and regurgitate what Sam said. I argued that it did not make sense, and not treating customer right. He turned nasty, no longer the nice professional he had been, and said, it is weekend, he would rather play with his daughter than to have argument with me and going over the same things. He said, flippantly, if I did not like it, then I can cancel. This was the second time they had threatened to cancel me, figuring they had me over the barrel since I had to move in three days--this was Sunday, the move was scheduled for Wednesday--how to find another mover?. But I did not like to be threatened and to be held hostage, so I told him to cancel me. I asked for my $500 deposit back, and I also immediately called American Express to put the transaction into dispute. <<<>>> When people are arrogant and nasty even before the move, why bother hire them--what if there was a real problem to be handled? (I ended up hiring another mover the same day, only $50 as a deposit, but since they only took cash, I was not comfortable with that, and the next day I hired Mac/s Moving--no deposit, just a travel fee, not an hourly travel fee, no fuel surcharge, not extra charge for materials--just an hourly charge, or they could do fixed price. They sent 7 men, subsequently reduced to 5 for the offload, and charged me for 6 men, they were flexible as I moved my move date backwards, again and again, as I was not ready with the packing I was doing, and they eventually even helped move part of my things into emergency rented public storage--too much stuff to fit--really pleasant and accommodating--and charged me $2,100--no surprices, no contents held hostage on truck, no deposit required, pay by credit card after move is done.) <<<>>> Bottomline? Stay away; they say they have done thousands of moves--must have been lucrative given their mo, There are plenty of movers out there--a very competitive business--don't fall for these guys--kick them to the curb, let them hold themselves hostage on their truck, with their deposit in hand. Caveat Emptor. .

First of all, let me say that this firm asks you to fill out the customer satisfaction form before they are finished and only gives you "excellent" as the positive choice. So if they come back and respond to this review and say I said their move was excellent and would recommend them this why. I would not recommend them to anyone.
1st. And most importantly, I had 3 boxes of important things that I did  not want packed. I told them verbally and the boxes were marked. Yet they took a tray of medication out of one those boxes and packed it!!. I did not realize this until I went to take my meds that night and could not find them. I was ripping mad when I called the move coordinator and what I got was a lecture about how i should never leave stuff out like that that could possibly be packed. he mentioned something about a fanny pack. I then ripped open every box until I found the meds.
2nd When I unpacked open boxes of loose food and spices, they  had been packed upside down and the contents spilled all over the rest of the contents and had not been wrapped.
3rd I had to constantly go back to check each room and make sure they didn't miss anything and invariably they missed wall pictures and things like that. As it is, I lost my tool box and all its contents ( which they will blame me for because I didn't check the garage thoroughly enough.. Things I found at the end were just tossed into the last box and a couple of them were breakable. Fortunately, they didn't.
I have a real problem with putting the primary responsibility on me to be sure they got every thing. Geez, they do this for a living. Can't they get it right? I tipped the crew MOST generously, which I now regret.

"Sir, I apologize if my estimator communicated incorrect. He did respond to calling me directly which I was informed you needed them first thing in the morning. I arranged for the same crew to start early the next morning and go back to your residence to target the boxes to retrieve your meds. In regards to the quality of the crews performance my office contacted you with an hour left of the move in which you informed us that you stated my crews were polite and very courteous hard working. In addition we stated if you needed anything else please call the office."

Quoted us $1800, but charged $2500.  Had no choice but to pay, seeing my items were on their truck.
UPDATE: When All My Sons responded to my above complaint on Angie's List, they misstated several facts in an attempt to justify their questionable business practice of providing me a low price estimate and then charging 40% more more when my items were on their truck.  Here are the correct facts:
-- I did disclose to All My Sons before they gave me the estimate that they had to walk down a sidewalk to get to their truck, and described the sidewalk in accurate terms.
-- Even if I did not disclose the sidewalk (which I did disclose), I cannot understand what they are complaining about.  It was a straight walk from door to truck, maybe 60 feet, not a "long walk".  They were able to back the truck up to the end of the sidewalk and directly load boxes on.  How does this justify the huge difference between estimated price and actual price.
-- ALL my belongings were packed in closed, taped boxes when they arrived (I was not still packing as they claim).  In fact I helped carry some boxes to the truck to move things along.
-- When All My Sons provided the estimate, I answered all questions  HONESTLY (number of rooms, furniture, number of stairs, sidewalk, etc.).  I do not appreciate the suggestion otherwise.  If my answers did not provide All My Sons with enough information to give an accurate quote, they should have told me that, not provided an arbitrary low price estimate to get my business.

In my opinion, All My Sons gave a low price estimate to get my business, then charged me 40% more when my belongings were on the truck, and then made up excuses when I was justifiably upset.  Maybe rather than providing excuses and blaming the customer, All My Sons should try giving accurate estimates and sticking to them. 
In closing, I am not a hard person to please, all my other review's on Angie's list (three others) are "A"s.  All My Sons has the distinction of being my only "F".

"I am sorry for your feelings on your experience with the price. I personally called you back right after the move and reviewed your inventory. Your location of your townhome to parking reflecting a long long walk was not disclosed, you were packing your own items which were not done when we arrived and the inventory that was given should have filled 60% of my truck. We left your origin with a 100% loaded truck. I explained the travel time before the move in which as you know there was traffic going into New York which I discounted. The price was based on the information that was given, I feel we can agree the crew was outstanding and work efficiently."
