Chris Verrone was a consummate professional from the beginning to the end of the job. When I contacted Chris, we made an appointment for the next day. He arrived promptly and took a great deal of time walking the property with me, taking photos, asking me questions and pointing out areas that might need additional attention (e.g., dormer flashing where wood rot was apparent). That evening, Chris emailed me a schematic of the property using software that converted all the photos into detailed measurements of the various dimensions of the roof. Two days later, Chris sent us a detailed proposal as well as the dimensions schematic and annotated photos where there were problems that needed to be addressed. Chris included a number of options in the proposal (e.g., cost to replace the studio roof, cost to replace one addition on the house—since that roof was newer and in good shape, possible cost if flashing need to be replaced, etc.). Because of the detailed schematic and my conversations with him, I was confident that Chris had more accurately scoped and priced the work than the other bids I had received. We also received a very good reference from a friend of ours who had used Chris a couple of years ago. I wanted to proceed quickly due to the leak and we were having a family gathering in 3 weeks. When I told Chris I wanted to proceed immediately, he responded that he had postponed another job and asked if they could start on our roof the next day. I was delighted and said yes. How Chris was able to arrange for the dumpster and the materials to be delivered a day after we agreed to start, I do not know, but he made it happen! The crew arrived promptly by 8 am every day. At the end of each day, they cleaned up and moved equipment to the dumpster. The weather cooperated, so the crew was able to work 6 days straight to complete most of the job except for some detailed flashing and siding work. Even after some very heavy snow, the crew came the next day, dug out their equipment, shoveled and swept the snow off the roof, and finished the job. As with any job, there are always some factors that are unanticipated. Chris and the crew always did the right thing, focusing on quality rather than expediency. Chris let me know about any unanticipated issues and decisions they were making, so I was fully aware of them, but he did not charge extra for that work. Result: A high quality job that was completed on time and on budget.
