VACUUM WORLD

My vacuum cleaner was under warranty, and this place was the only manufacturer-authorized repair shop in my area. Their Greenwich location was the one listed on the manufacturer's website, but when I called to find out their hours, I was told that repairs were only done at their Stamford store. Luckily, I hadn't wasted a trip to Greenwich. The Stamford store is in a pretty sketchy neighborhood, so I wasn't thrilled to leave my car on the street, but they have no other parking. The store is a dirty mess--vacuum cleaners and parts piled everywhere in total disarray, barely any place to stand, the counter so covered with crap I didn't even realize it was a counter, and dirt and dust everywhere. No repair person was present; I had to leave my vac with a slovenly woman who said "he'll take a look at it" and call to let me know when it was ready. I wasn't even offered a receipt, though she did scribble the store's phone number on a piece of paper and hand it to me. Of course no one ever called me, and I had to phone the store twice to find out if my vac was ready. I picked it up, and it works, so I guess the repair was successful, but I'll never step foot in that junkpile again. I did notify the manufacturer that their warranty repair shop should be changed.
