I hired them because they were inexpensive and recommended to me by my friend. The owner Irving Diaz aka “Chino” contacted me right away and sounded professional. I thought it would be an easy move since I had moved most of my apartment already and only had a few large items left. I gave him a list of what I had and made sure to ask if they had tools and items to cover and protect my belongs. He assured me they did. I still went out a plastic wrapped my custom beige linen West Elm couch which cost me $2500 and was only 1 year old so practically brand new and wrapped my green suede chair. Chino, the owner (Irving Diaz) overextended himself and sent very young men to my home to move my items. Before we started, I made sure to explain to them what needed to be moved and how to move the items, I was very specific. Yet they still damaged the couch in its entirety, even after I protested and explained to them how to get the couch out of the apartment and how to get it in the elevator. When I called Chino outraged, he said he would use one of his “contacts” to fix it, but it’s linen, you can’t just reupholster that couch. You can’t strap a patch on it and West Elm does not sell the fabric or reupholster, if you need a new couch, you simply go and buy a new couch. I called him immediately and he was unavailable like in most of the reviews I have read now online. Finally, when he did call me back, only after his kid’s called him first, he tried to say it was somehow my fault, that the elevators in my building were too small. The couch had no problem getting into the building, if his workers would have listened to the instructions, they were given they would have had no problem getting the couch out. Also, he never provided his “workers” with any tools to take apart my bedframe and headboard, so we could not take my headboard or frame with me from my old apartment to my new one. I was assured by Chino and the teens, that he would be dropping tools off and would come with a truck that same day to finish moving the remaining item (my bed minus the mattress), but he never called me back again. Mind you, this was a job was that had been paid for ahead of time, so finish the job you are being paid for! The “teens” simply left my new apartment saying that Chino said he would be coming back with tools and that there wasn’t anything that they could do and that he would be back in about an hour LATEST!!! I called several times and sent several text messages for the next few hours and never heard from him again until the next day. The next day, he gave me some ridiculous story about not having reception and his phone dying. I have an iPhone too. I know what happens when your phone dies, it goes straight to voicemail and does not continue ringing and the texts messages are green, not blue. He is a liar and tells everyone the same stories - its all in the reviews. I had to turn in my keys and had to leave my bedframe there or else I would have been charged an extra day of rent, so this man cost me my new couch, my bed frame and headboard. I am still waiting for the claim from his insurance guy for my couch – we all know that will never come, so I plan on suing him in court. After reading many reviews, it looks like many people have done that. Save yourself the trouble – USE ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY!!!
