We have 7 Licensed Inspectors and on most inspections you will get at least 2-3 inspectors on site. Our reports contain digital photos with captions explaining the deficiencies and are often 60-75 pages long. If you are spending hundreds of thousands on a home don't try to save a hundred dollars on your inspector. We are not all the same. Call us for a thorough and comprehensive inspection. Excellent. Naoki and the team were very thorough and explained everything about the systems and the condition of the house. Giving us tips on how to maintain things, how everything works, etc. The best home inspectors we have worked with in the last 15 years. Will definitely hire again for our next house!

Steve did a great job of not only taking us through the inspection and keeping a detailed eye on everything in the house, he also made the process of easing into first-time home buying less scary. He did an extremely thorough job inside and outside of the house with his team (Fabio), and really made us understand any potential issue from a reasonable and comfortable perspective. Home inspection went well. Very punctual on the date/time of the home inspection. A team of 3 came to inspect, lead by Naoki. He walked us thought the whole home, pointing out his findings, both pros and cons. He expressed any concerns her had, told us about appliances and their lifespan, and when we should possibly have things replaced, so we can budget for them. His findings and explanations were very details, as well as the detailed report he provided the following morning. He and his team was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend Stonehollow for home and radon inspections.

Naoki was my inspector and he was fantastic - the inspection was very thorough and gave me great comfort about the home I was buying.
What I was most impressed with was the post inspection service. My lender had me jumping through hoops last minute for some documentation and both Steve and Naoki responded immediately with the requested paperwork and I am incredibly grateful for that.

We were 100% satisfied with Stonehollow's inspection of our new home. Steve and his crew came out and spent 2+ hours inspecting the house from top to bottom. There were comments that Steve made as we were touring the house together, that I didn't at first think were a big deal, such as "front-loading washers are terrible because mold builds up in the rubber gasket". We had never owned a front-loading washing machine, so we weren't sure what the big deal was, but Steve was right. We had to spend $375 the day after we moved into the house to have the gasket replaced because when we opened the door, the odor of mold was horrible. That is just one example, but I could cite many others, He provides his customers with a very extensive report with tons of photos of every problem area of the house, and that report has become our bible, as we systematically get all of the repairs done. Steve charges more than other inspectors, but his service is worth every dollar. We would highly recommend Stonehollow for your home inspection.

Outstanding. We always obtain home inspections when we buy - or sell - our homes, and this inspection was for the purpose of identifying issues before listing our house for sale. Steve Gladstone and his team are among the very best we've ever had. We obtained his name from the attorney who helped us with the original purchase of the home, and I called on Wednesday and they came on Friday. They were extremely thorough, and invested about 4 hours going over the property. Steve personally walked me through and around the entire house and grounds, reviewing and pointing out all kinds of things, and asking a number of questions. Not only did he point out specific inspection-related items, he offered a multitude of suggestions for improving the appeal and marketability of the property. We implemented most of the recommendations and it has made a big difference. We received a comprehensive and extremely detailed, 50-page report the next day, Saturday. We have never had such value-added inspection services, and in addition to the report itself, one of the most amazing things we received was a list of recommended service providers - painters, roofers, appraisers, attorneys, plumbers. You name it, he can recommend it. So far, we have engaged the painter and roofer he recommended, and couldn't be more pleased with not Stonehollow's services, but the services of the contractors Steve recommended. We would unequivocally recommend Stonehollow, Inc. to anyone buying or selling a home, and would certainly use them again.

As a first time home buyer, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The Stonehollow team was friendly, prompt, thorough and ultimately helped us avoid purchasing a money pit. Steve was very friendly and honest as he walked me through the entire house, inside and out, pointing out everything he saw along the way, along with recommendations for how a situation could be remedied or tell which type of professional would be required. The report they created was 60 pages long and very detailed. It included pictures and everything we talked about. They were a little more expensive than the competition, but we couldn't have been happier with the results and we'll definitely use Stonehollow again and recommend them to our friends.

After reading the reviews here on Angie's List, we expected to be very happy with our selection of inspectors. Steve and Jason exceeded our expectations.
When we arrived they were already inspecting the outside of the home. Somehow they managed to do a very thorough inspection, answer very completely any and all questions that we had (and we did have many, so we echo the sentiment of a prior reviewer that Steve is an educator at heart!), and complete the inspection in less than 4 hours.
Both inspectors put us at ease with their kind manner and even more so with their obvious expertise in all areas of the inspection.
And we are grateful to Jason for his willingness to perform a military crawl in order to thoroughly inspect some very tight crawlspaces!
As promised, Steve has been available for questions and concerns via telephone and we look forward to a continued relationship with his company.
We do not hesitate to offer our "A+" recommendation to other Angie's List members.

They were not first phonecall I made, but they were the last. After calling several other inspection companies that just wanted to schedule and get me off the phone, Steve personally spent 30+ minutes on the phone with my wife and I and went through all of our questions until we were comfortable. As first time homebuyers, we were anxious but had done a lot of homework. He was very patient and explained everything well. Scheduling was easy.
The day of the inspection, Steve was onsite himself doing the inspection with one of his colleagues (forgive me for be terrible with names!) for over 4 hours. My wife tailed Steve, and I the other inspector, asking questions about anything and everything. They had great attitudes and worked very hard: climbing into difficult crawlspaces, analyzing every little thing we brought to their attention, and taking the time to educate us as first time homebuyers. We could not have been happier with our experience.
Regarding the price: we knew we were paying more than other companies quoted. We added tests for Radon (air and water), Uranium, and others. Those prices were very similar if not identical to the same tests that other companies quoted. The extra money therefore went towards the inspection, which we feel was justified. This would be the biggest investment we have ever made and we wanted to be going into it with eyes open. The intent was not just to negotiate with the seller, but to learn everything we possibly could and Stonehollow helped us out very effectively in that regard.

Steve was incredibly thorough not only in taking me through the house, but also explaining how various systems (mechanicals, filtration, hvac, etc) worked and pointing how things to look out for and/or remedy to save ourselves from trouble down the road. He and Jason worked well together, enabling them to cover a large area quite thoroughly but efficiently. Steve has a great pedagogical method and is incredibly user friendly. I would recommend him without reservation.

Steve Gladstone and his team did a great job of inspecting the house we were looking to buy. Before we decided to hire them we thought the price was a little high, but after having received the service we think it was worth every penny. First, Steve was very patient with us and spent about 4 hours answering every question that we had. We were first time buyers and we had plenty of questions. The experience was very educational and we came away much more prepared. His team also identified a few issues that helped us reduce the purchase price. And least, but not least we appreciated the advice he gave us on a number of issues, not all strictly related to inspection. For example he suggested we can knock one of the kitchen walls down to create a larger space and help utilize a room next to the kitchen that we didn’t really know how to use. Kitchen expansion was a particularly debated issue between my wife and I and the advice was very, very helpful. I can go on for a while, but the bottom line is that Steve provided us with a great service and we highly recommend him to other buyers.
PS. Steve has written a book on the subject and he has been a president of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He did not mention this until we asked. We had researched this before we hired Stonehollow and it was a big part of our decision to hire them.

So we climb on ladders crawl in crawlspaces and inspect the home like its the biggest investment of your lives... oh wait a minute... it is. Those reading our reviews on Angies list don't be fooled into a quick or cheap inspection as being a real value. Every item missed by an inspector in a hurry to do three a day, will cost you way more than you save. Haggling over $50 is crazy. We have lived in several cities around the U.S. with this latest home purchase number seven. Stonehollow gave us an inspection unlike any we have had on prior properties. They were extraordinary! Steve Gladstone and his team were knowlegable and thorough as they worked their way through a 1960s ranch, which we knew needed close inspection. In addition to the onsite review, Stonehollow provided an easy-to-follow written assessment that we continue to reference as we work on our new residence.
The cost of this particular inspection also included a review of the two large crawl spaces. Thanks to Stonehollow, we were able to secure additional funds from the seller to repair a foundation sill issue that would have gone unnoticed if viewed only from the exterior.

My husband and I decided to hire Stonehollow to perform our home inspection after reading client reviews on Kudzu (we were not Angie's List members at the time). As first time homebuyers, we wanted to know what, exactly, we were getting into and we were happy to pay up a little bit in an effort to protect ourselves. Steve Gladstone and his associate exceeded the high expectations that we had and to say that the inspection was thorough would be the understatement of the year (3.5h for a 2500 sq. ft. home). Steve answered all of our questions (there were a ton and many of them were painfully stupid) and has a great sense of humor. Attending the inspection was fun and informative rather than dry and painful. We were provided with a binder chock-full of important information including the inspection report, a photo addendum (you download and print the file post-inspection) and general home tips.
I've recommended this business to friends and family and, in mentioning its name, found out that several folks used it for their own home inspections and were also thrilled. I know it may seem a bit pricey for an inspection, but trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.
