MARGARUM REFUSE

When we began the lease on our home, we contracted with a different trash hauler than the previous tenant, having seen articles in the local press about Margarum being charged with defrauding Stamford of $300,000 by altering the weight of their trucks illegally. When the new hauler provided a garbage can, it was gone the following week, and we can only surmise, since it was in a closed bin area, that the Margarum collector removed the other company's bin. When we called Margarum, they denied they had taken the bin and kept trying to get us to have them haul our trash, though we repeatedly refused. Now, a year later when our lease is up, we received an invoice for the entire past year of service, even though they have not been collecting our garbage. Of course, we refuse to pay this since they did not provide the service. These are terrible business practices.
