Imported Cars Of Stamford LLC

My 2004 Volvo T5 just about dropped dead on the highway in Stamford, CT. I had my two children with me. I left the car at a parking lot and called Geico Road Service. The car was towed to the Volvo Dealership in Stamford who gave me a price of $1.800 to replace the Serpentine and A/C Compressor. I thought that was high. The fellow was a nice guy, said the shop's labor costs are $135/ph. He understood when I told him I couldn't afford his prices. I googled volvo auto repair in Stamford and lo and behold I came up with ICS (Imported Cars of Stamford) owned and operated by George Kakaletris. He spoke with me and as we spoke my stressors faded away. He assured me that he could fix my car for about $1400. He asked if the car was drive-able. I said when I left the car, it was not able to go above 5 mph. He walked to the dealership, got my receipt for the tests/estimates, and brought my car back to his shop. He fixed my car in under a day. He charged me $1,233. He was awesome from the get-go. He checked my front end for free because the dealership told me that I needed another $1400 worth of work done. He saw nothing wrong with my front end. He is an honest man. I have two kids, a full time job and a household to run. I collapse every chance I get. My car was a mess. George had this car looking shiney new on the outside and just about detailed it for me on the inside. When I bought the car last year from Autowerkes, oy! that's another story, the interior was beat up, filthy dirty. Every chance I get for the past year, I stay in the car after getting home or on the weekends, and scrub a bit of grease or dirt off the leather. But this car is really clean now thanks to George. I did not pay extra for that to happen. It's his policy to hand back a clean car! wow! In fact, his invoice came below his estimate, which once again proved his honesty in workmanship. Once the car was finished and ready to go, he offered to drive the car up to my house. That's 100 miles away! I don't normally live with a feeling of entitlement, I'm a programmer/developer at a college. And so had a hard time with someone who so far as I could see, deliver my car out of the goodness of his heart. I was uncomfortable with that. He understood. I took off on a Friday and rode the Amtrak down to Stamford to meet this man. He's warm hearted, caring, and loves to do great work on all kinds of cars. He even told me that since the volvo (2004) was sold to me with a known tire problem last year (discussed that w/him prior on phone) that he'd call Town Fair Tire and ask them to set me up with a new pair of tires and alignment under retail cost. In this century where greed outweighs reason, George is a gem. Take your imported car to him. You will not be dissappointed. In fact, everyday that you get behind the wheel after he's worked on it, you'll remember this brilliant man, his warm car-side manners, and quality workmanship. BTW, before my car died.... I had it in the shop where I purchased it 4 times for A/C problems, which they never fixed correctly. I promise myself to find a volvo mechanic that stands shoulder to shoulder with the quality of Imported Cars of Stamford! It's going to be maddening trying to find someone as honest and brings as high a standard to their work. I wouldn't be surprised if my car needs major work, I don't flat bed it down to him. I guess, for me, it's time to sign up for AAA. :D
