It was a pleasure working with Jim to renovate our full bathroom and we are very happy with the results. Almost everything in the bathroom was original to our 1952 home, including the pipes in the basement so it was a big job that included demolition, pipe replacement, new floorboards, tiling, sheet rock, new recessed lights, fan installation, custom vanity installation (cabinet and counter top by contractors Jim recommended), plumbing installations, etc. I had never gone through a renovation before but I had full confidence that Jim was going to do right in advising us on each detail in the process, including recommending vendors he had relationships with. He was there every day from start to finish and the job was completed on time and on budget which was much appreciated since we were without a shower during the renovation. Jim has been doing this for a long time and his experience is evident in the work he does. I would gladly hire Jim again for any other home renovations we undertake. I will post before and after pictures of the job once we get the bathroom painted!

Jim recently completed our third bathroom renovation and we are once again extremely happy with the outcome. The work was done with precision and care, and the result was another beautiful bathroom. Jim is straight-forward, honest and trustworthy and he performs high quality work. We unequivocally recommend Cedarwood Construction.

The project turned out very well. The end result is beautiful and it makes a big difference in our home. Jim is precise and takes tremendous pride in doing things the right way. Everything he does reflects his focus on getting the job done correctly. He is not going to take shortcuts or do things that are not fixed "forever"... every surface is perfectly level, every tile is perfectly matched. Cedar wood did all demo, fixture install, drywall, taping, vanity install, cabinet build, plumbing / electrical hookup and tile installation Our only minor issues were with other providers involved in the job (not directly tied to Cedar Wood). For example, Jim gives references for granite, vanity, tile supplier and plumbing suppliers. We also needed to source our own shower door and painter, (as per the contract). In that sense, the project took more time and cost more than we planned; however, most of these issues came from my lack of experience in coordinating these things and were not a reflection on Jim's work.

Jim renovated 2 bathrooms for us - he did an excellent job on both. His work was thorough and meticulous. He is very skilled and knowledgeable, and we are extremely pleased with how our bathrooms turned out. He started and completed the work within the estimated time frame. Very well, Jim remodelated our first bathroom. It is beautiful! This is the second bathroom he has remodelated in our house. We are happy with both of them. It could not have gone better and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Jim Boccuzzi was fantastic in so many ways: 1) We agreed to a start date for the work and he was there. 2) He promised us that he would be there every day from start to finish and he was - he does one job at a time and totally commits himself to it. 3) His workmanship is superb, totally professional, beautiful - he is meticulous and precise in his work, no shortcuts. 4) His workmen and subcontractors were just as meticulous, capable and reliable as he is. 5) He is very clean - there was a minimum of dust and dirt and they cleaned up after themselves at the end of every workday. The only area outside of the bathroom that was at all affected was the adjacent master bedroom and Jim covered up all the furniture and carpeting with drop cloths and plastic sheeting. The garage, where they worked cutting tiles and wood was cleaned up at the end of each day, making room for our car to fit back in 6) Jim is totally reliable and honest - he had our key and garage door opener and we were most comfortable leaving him and his people alone in the house. 7) Jim does not nickel and dime - although he had to get some materials not initially anticipated and there was some work involved that he had not anticipated, he did not add to the price we had agreed to in the contract. 8) He was a pleasure to be around - always cheerful, helpful and agreeable.

The contractor was very punctual. Very passionate, honest and very detail oriented. "Very important values for well done work".

What a wonderful transformation from the 1950s to the the 21st century bathrooms. We could not be more pleased with the outcome and the Jim's quality craftsmanship. Jim pays great attention to detail which shines in the finished product. We had a lot of old plumbing issues, which come along with a 60 year old house. Jim took the time to take care of the the issues, so we could start with firm foundation that will last us for years to come. Many thanks to Jim for his great work.

The owner Jim Boccuzzi is the ultimate perfectionist.  He does most of the work himself and shows up every day until the job is done.  Jim made sure we were happy with each aspect of the job and guided us through the entire process to avoid any pitfalls.  His craftsmanship is second to none.  We were extremely impressed with the the level of detail he exhibited in each area.  His tile work on the shower and floor is fantastic.  He even fixed some of the original framing of the room that he didn't like.

He cleaned up nicely when he was finished and left no open issues.

We were extremely pleased with the work Jim Boccuzzi of Cedarwood Construction did in remodeling our small master bath.  He adhered to the contract in terms of price and, as nearly as possible given unforeseen delays, in terms of the completion date.  Jim was there every day to supervise the work  being done, and both he and his workers were very considerate of the schedule (naptimes) and needs of the family.  He and his crew minimize disruption to the household (dust containment, etc.) and do a thorough clean-up job each day.  He is very conscientious about every detail and makes sure the quality of his workers' work is up to his very exacting standards.  Jim communicates about every step of the process that requires decisions by the homeowner and is good at explaining what needs to be done.  He has good relationships with suppliers and is able to get the best price and to expedite delivery of materials when that becomes crucial.  He is also pleasant to work with and patient with inexperienced clients who need extra explanation of the process.  We hope to hire him again for a second bathroom remodel and a partial kitchen remodel.

We were very apprehensive about having such a big project done in our home.  Jim of Cedarwood Construction made it so easy for us.  He explained everything that had to be done.  He was always there to answer all our questions, and gave us very good advice. He told us where we could purchase the fixtures, tiles and vanities we needed, which was so helpful.  Jim is very professional and experienced, for every problem that came up Jim had a solution.  His workmanship is outstanding.  The tile work and niche in the showers are beautiful.  He transformed two old-fashioned bathrooms into two beautiful new rooms.  we would highly recommend him.

Jim, the owner, responded promptly with a phone call and estimate appointment. The house is about 50 years old and so this was more than a simple updating of fixtures. The bathroom had never been remodeled and original plumbing (brass pipes), which ran through an unheated garage, had to be removed and re-routed. A new, large laundry closet was built on first floor, also with new plumbing and electrical. As we suspected, there are always surprises with an older house. Floors had to be rebuilt for support, poor workmanship by previous tradesmen had to be corrected, insulation added, etc. before the actual remodel could be done. 
The contract itemizing all the planned-for work was clearly written with a payment schedule. Jim spent time discussing the contract and design plan. When we did encounter the surprises, he discussed the options and understood exactly how to repair and bring everything up to code. He also has vendors for tile, granite and cabinetry who are fairly priced.
Jim is an excellent craftsman who is skilled at many trades. The plumbing, tiling and fixtures were expertly installed and he even built a beautiful wood bathroom door to match the Craftsman style of the house. He was present on the job every day and on time to personally do the work and he takes pride in doing everything the right way. The client can be assured that there will be no short cuts when it comes to safety or workmanship.The results were perfect and I would hire him again.

One thing we noted about Jim right away was that he is here, on the job every single day. He brings help when needed, but he doesn't just take a job and then farm it out to someone else. Throughout the whole weeks-long process, Jim has been here for us, and is able to point out immediately when problems arise. We hired him  specifically because of his good Angies List reviews, and were not disappointed. Jim and crew go out of their way to make sure the homeowner is aware of every step of the way and what is needed next. 

One we agreed upon an initial design, it was no time til the crew had our old bathroom down to the studs. Because we moved the location of the shower and toilet, there was some complicated re-routing of the plumbing that added some extra time to the job, but once that was in place, things moved very quickly. Every day we'd come home to major progress.

Jim really prides himself on doing everything right, not cutting corners at all, and making the homeowner happy--and it shows in the quality of the finished work. We will be recommending Jim to anyone in our area who is looking for a renovation project. His rates are very fair. If he is overbooked, he'll tell you he can't schedule you, instead of inflating the cost of the job just to deter you from choosing him, an experience we had when we were selecting a contractor in the first place.

We are incredibly happy with our new bathroom, and will be enjoying Jim's hard work and perfection for years to come!

Cedarwood delivered both half and full bathroom remodeling projects on time, on budget, and was totally dedicated to the project from start to finish.  This has been an exceptional experience for us.  Jim and his crew were not only clean, courteous, and efficient, but consistently managed our expectations throughout the project clearly by maintaining open communication channels.

Jim called me immediately and came over and gave us an estimate.  Based on his reviews and responsiveness I decided to hire him without contacting other contractors.
He showed up when he said he would and worked diligently through each day he was here- did not make any empty promises. 
The work is great, I am very pleased.
The bathroom faucets were difficult to remove but he got it done and the new faucets are perfect.  The entry way was a real challenge because the walls had never been painted and it took alot of work to smooth them out before they could be painted, but Jim takes no shortcuts so that everything is done right.

Jim from Cedarwood Contrustion is amazing.  He is very professional, punctual, honest, hard working, and very good at his trade.  Jim showed up on time gave me a free estimate and stuck to the price the entire time even though we encountered a few areas of concern after demo. He demoed the entire master bath down to the studs, updated the plubming and electrical, then installed new floors, walls, vanity, toilet, free standing bathtub, and  all hardware. Jim does everything, plumbing, electrical, tiling, sheet rock, this makes his price the best around because there are no subcontracters involved.  He was on site everyday and kept me informed throughout the whole process. Jim is a perfectionist and it shows in his work, everything was completed better than I could of imagined.  We now have a beautiful free standing soaker tub, custom vanity, custom tile work, custom separate shower build, my wife and I could not be any happier in the work performed.  On top of the outstanding work, Jim is very honest and hardworking which is why we will only call Jim for all of our remodelling needs.  

Overall, we are very happy with our new bathroom and decided to hire Jim to remodel another, smaller bathroom on the first floor of our house.  He will be completing that project within the next couple of weeks.
In terms of the actual remodeling effort, there were a number of hiccups, but Jim was responsive and willing to work with us to address any problems and challenges that arose.  We were trying to complete the project in a four-week time frame right before Christmas.  We had received estimates from three different contractors, but Jim was the only one who was willing to try to complete the job by our deadline.
Jim started work immediately and had the demolition phase completed in two days.  Unfortunately, Jim's main assistant suffered a knee injury right before our project started and was unavailable to help him with the remodeling effort.  Jim put in extra time and effort and managed to complete almost all of the work by our deadline.  Even though he was the lone resource working on the project, Jim still managed to come up with a plan to improve the layout of our bathroom.  He came up with an idea to move the toilet to create more space and to modify one of the walls to allow for a deeper vanity with more storage.  The result was a bathroom that seemed larger, was more comfortable to use, and had more storage.
After the demolition phase, it became apparent that a lot of old, galvanized plumbing pipes would have to be replaced in order to make the bathroom function properly.  Jim's plumber was not available to do the work within our time frame, so Jim used his own plumbing skills to complete the work.  Although this delayed Jim's efforts with the other remodeling work, it was a necessary step in order to have a bathroom ready in time for the holidays.
Another hiccup during the project occurred when the vanity top we ordered turned out to be a poor fit for the corner space it was intended to occupy.  Jim put us in touch with a stone works vendor and helped expedite the process of getting a new, customized vanity top built.  Although it was not ready in time for the holidays, it was ready soon after and was a better quality top than the first one we ordered from a different vendor.
The net result of Jim's work was a new bathroom that we are very happy with.  We're hoping (and expecting) that Jim's remodeling effort with our second bathroom will produce the same satisfying result.

Jim did an excellent job. Always on time,there everyday,upfront if there were any issues. Kept us informed every step. Made us feel at ease as we had bad experiences in the past with contractors. Would use him again and highly recommend him.

My husband has worked In the construction industry for 20+ years. So, needless to say he did his homework when it came to hiring a contractor to do work in our house and he wanted a say in the construction methods and materials that were going to be used. Well, we certainly made the right choice in selecting Cedarwood Construction as our contractor. Their attention to detail, and overall craftsmanship fully met our expectations (especially when having someone familiar with the process and industry looking over you). They were at our home when they said they would be and finished when they said they would finish. They also were very neat and kept a clean work area, which makes any construction project in your home easier to deal with! We would definitely use Cerdarwood Construction again on future work in our home and would recommend them to anyone.

The whole process was very pleasant and the results were great. Jim Baccuzzi of Cedarwood Construction delivered what he promised and then some.  Jim is very experienced, knowledgeable, professional, punctual, respectful and helpful.  Cederwood took great care in all the work they did, especially in doing what they could to minimize disruption and any mess and they were always mindful that they were working in someone's home. Jim spends the extra time and care to get things right (from thinking about ways to minimize the spread of debris during demolition, to preparing the walls and tile for a quality installation.  Jim is not one to cut corners and takes great pride in his work.  

He was very good about informing us of possible issues that might arise with the renovation of an older home, while also being very good about providing alternatives and feedback about how he had handled certain situations on past jobs to enable us to make informed decisions. We quickly came to trust Jim and his advice, but he also respected our preferences and wishes.The finished project came out almost exactly as the drawings we prepared, which had very precise requirements regarding dimensions and alignments of various details.  Jim got it all right!  If Jim and Cedarwood could satisfy a detail-oriented and demanding architect, who was also the homeowner, then he should be able to satisfy and exceed the expectations of just about anyone.  I have already recommended Jim Baccuzzi and Cedarwood to family and friends and would continue to do so, without reservation.  He takes the time to get it right, and for a very reasonable price.

I am writing this review on behalf of my 83 year old mother. My mother recently had both of her knees replaced. Prior to her surgery, I interviewed three contractors to renovate her existing bathroom which included converting her bathtub to a walk in shower. During the interview process, I was immediately impressed with Jim's knowledge and suggestions. I explained to all of the contractors that the bathroom had to be completed in three weeks for when my mother returned home from the rehabilitation facility. Jim was the only contractor who stepped up and said he would do what ever it took to get the bathroom ready for when she came home. Jim fulfilled his promise. The overall project couldn't have gone any better and the quality is top notch. I would definitely recommend Cedarwood Construction to anyone who is considering a remodeling project.

In 2013 Cedarwood Construction remodeled two bathrooms for us and we couldn't be happier. All components of the bathroom function as they did the day he installed it over six months ago. Our last bathroom in the house was a half bathroom that needed to be renovated. Jim squeezed us into his schedule a few weeks back. Once again we were so happy with all of the details and outcome of the project. This 1st floor bathroom is actually the one all guests use when they come over and people cannot believe the transformation of the space.Great Job!

Jim is extremely professional. Start and completion date and final price were as quoted. Jim's eye for detail helped up front with some critical design decisions. Based on years of experience, his advice on product and material selection also made the decision process a lot easier. Jim even set us up to meet with all of his vendors to make plumbing fixture and tile selections.Throughout the entire project the workplace was left immaculate. Workmanship is meticulous which Jim performs himself. I recently recommended Jim to our neighbor and we plan on hiring him for our master bathroom project this summer.

Friends of ours found Cedarwood Construction through Angie's List. Once we saw the quality of work performed by Jim we immediately called him to schedule a home consultation. From the very first visit right up until when the bathroom was completed Jim was a true professional and he was always on the project. We told Jim we had to have the bathroom completed by Christmas because we had a lot of people coming in from out of town and he completed the project on 12/20/13. His attention to detail,timeliness and cleanliness throughout the project exceeded all expectations. We will be calling Jim next year to remodel our kids bathroom.
