"Total Job Cost $14,000 We are sorry to hear The Christiano’s felt they had a negative experience. JC Tonnotti strives for excellence as evidenced by the positive reviews we have received. We were not made aware they were displeased with the sales representative and we will frequently let our customers know about the different services we offer including a cabinet re-facing division. The Christiano’s state they love the windows and the door however, they stated they were displeased with the caulking on the windows after an energy audit. All our clients are walked through an inspection at the time of completion and instructed on the operation of the windows and the installation they signed off on everything with the installers. We would have appreciated the opportunity to speak with the audit company or to at least have pictures of what they felt the issue was. Apparently, she had them complete everything and called us after the fact. She states our representative did not get back to her however; we have emails and messages that were left trying to make contact. When contact was made she wanted money back for the windows however would provide no evidence to back it up. JC Tonnotti takes pride in our work and we value each and every customer!"

Painting: Yankee Painting was sent to do the job. The owner Jim came out and said he would first send his son Mike to power wash the deck and I actually had him wash the whole building. That went well. Then Mike showed up to do the painting, admitting to me that he had NEVER painted anything before. I immediately was not happy as I felt I was paying for a professional and I was given an amateur. When he was "done" it looked like an amateur job. It was a mess. Missed spots, entire railings not painted, paint all over my vinyl siding, it was awful. After I complained, Jim the owner was sent out to look at it and he proclaimed it fine!!! He had told me he was 73 years old and I have to think that his eyes are failing. Fortunately, a fellow named Jimmy was sent to paint the front door and he was a real professional. Did a great job and when I told him about the deck he asked to see it right away. He agreed that it was a TERRIBLE job and called the company. Jimmy was out the next day and repainted my deck. But had he not called, neither JC Tonnotti nor Yankee Painting were going to do anything because the nearly blind Jim had said it was fine.
Roofing at my house: They stripped and re-roofed the area over the bonus room where it had leaked last year. They recommended a larger gutter as well and sent another company to install that. This cost a total of $5300. Result? Exactly the same leak problem this year. I could have saved $5300 and gotten the same result. Now I have to try to find someone that actually knows what they are doing. We are still cleaning up from the mess with from water leaking in.
Roofing at my office:
I had told them it needed flashing. You could see there was no flashing. These arrogant jerks stripped the roof and replaced shingles added water barriers...all things that I am sure did not need doing but NEVER PUT UP FLASHING!!! Result: same leaks as we had before. Cost? $2710. Another waste of money.
Their billing system is also incredibly confusing as they give you one estimate for all the work combined, but then each contractor collects his individual portion. I could not keep it straight with all the different people asking for money. And if you don't pay them "RIGHT NOW" they bang on your door and yell at you like you are a deadbeat. (Jim from Yankee Painting especially). Wow!
JC Tonnotti is good for installing windows. They seem to know that. Anything else, don't waste your money.
"Dear (removed member name); Thank you for taking the time to review our company. We regret that the project did not progress as we had all hoped. Regarding the painting; we apologize that you were not satisfied with the original painting. We did send someone back to complete the project to your satisfaction. The roof repair was done. Occasionally a repair does not satisfy the problem with doing a complete new roof. This is explained when the project is booked. Our billing is done with Quick Books. Since you had multiple jobs at more than one location Quick Books shows the total balance due. We had to create manual invoices for you. We are a small business that strives for !00% complete satisfaction. As a business owner yourself I am confident that you understand sometimes a situation is not resolvable with an individual to their complete satisfaction which is the case with you. We regret you feel as though you would not use us again since all work was completed and we showed up as promised. Sincerely, Faith Tonnotti"
One thing I was disappointed with was the installation of the doors. They put zero insulation around the door jam and the first winter there was a breeze coming in around the trim which I had to take off the molding and put in insulation.
The workers themselves were very professional and cleaned up the yard well.
As with any large contract for services, get it in writing.

The windows are great. They really look good and they cut down on energy costs. I have no complaints. I would recommend this company. They have great financing, 18 months, same as cash, hard to beat that.
The requirements for the window were quite stringent, as we are part of an association that has very clear rules on how the windows must look, and match exactly the prior unit. So the price was higher for this than a normal install and quote.
The day of the install, the team arrived, and was able to remove the old and replace the new within 4 hours. really excellent job. very neat work, and replaced all of the trim both interior and exterior so the window and all of the casing was new. i was impressed when the new window fit exactly in the old opening. very precise.
"Hi [member name removed], Thanks for taking the time to write a review of our company. We appreciate your time. We are looking forward to working with you on your decking project next! Thanks, Trish Gibson Office Manager"
the two professionals worked well together and with the electrician
very pleased with results
no surprises
I have recommended Tonnotti & Co. to many of my neighbors the Mattabasset condominiums in Meriden.
To be fair, there were some bumps in the ordering/scheduling process. The windows were delayed at the factory but we weren't informed, and instead of being ready for the end of May as we hoped, they were ready just in time for out of town guests to arrive for a week, in mid-June. We settled on July 2, but when I called to confirm the week before, I was told we weren't on the schedule. We ended up scheduling for July 19, a month and a half behind when we expected to get the windows, and a full month later than the original date we were given.
Once the crew showed up, however, everything ran like clockwork. The work was completed in one day. The crew was great, especially the crew leader, Dave. Very friendly, professional, willing to pause with whatever he was doing to answer a question. Our home inspection (we bought the condo in February) revealed that there might be some water damage in the corners of two windows, but once the old ones were out he took the time to show me that the framing was fine. The windows in our complex have exterior trim around them that's made up of boards covered in aluminum; while they made the house weathertight on the first day, Dave and another crew member had to return on Saturday and spend the entire day cutting and forming the aluminum cladding. They paid attention to the smallest detail, and even re-mounted a plant hanger they had to remove from the exterior trim when they began the job.
The new windows replaced 40-year-old single-pane, metal-frame windows that were original to the unit. Prior to replacement, our living room temperature would climb to 81-82 degrees even with the central air set on 75. The a/c just couldn't keep up. Since the new windows have been in, the entire house is much more comfortable, and the a/c keeps the entire place at 75 all the time. While the process could have been smoother at the outset, we're very happy with the end result and will consider contacting JC Tonnotti again next year about replacing the two exterior steel doors and storm doors on our unit, and possibly a few years down the road for a quote on finishing our basement.
"(removed member name), We would like to thank you for taking the time to write such a great review for us! We really appreciate it. We value your business and enjoyed working on your project with you. If you pass on our name and your referral lets us know it was you when they sign the contract we would be delighted to send you out to dinner on us! You were wonderful to work with and again, thank you for allowing us the opportunity!"
10-18-13 I spoke with Dawn who helped me find the video to fix the window that wouldn't stay up and it looks like a easy fix!
"Hi (deleted member name), I'm trying to reach out to you. The window that does not stay up is a simple fix. It sounds like it's out of the blancer system. We have a video on our website that I'd be happy to have you view. It takes about 2 mintues to fix. There are other solutions that are just as easy if you would call our office. I'm having a hard time reaching you because you are posting here with a different name and address than we have on our files. Hoping to hear from you soon, Trish Office Manager"
The only thing tht I didn't like is they didn't complete the job in consecutive days.
They started then came back 3 days later to finish first two windows, the last
window was complete in one day. The workers and the office staff were very
good to work with and I would recommend them.
