Since the sub contractors have not been paid by Robert Janesky, They are coming to us looking to get paid. I am assuming that our money paid to Janesky went elsewhere. The room needs to be completed before the cold weather comes. This experience has been nothing but a nightmare. It is now late September and this room is still not completed. We have zero contact with Janesky. Do yourself a favor and run if you see this guy.
Description of Work: I signed a contract with Bob Janesky from Town & Country Carpentry on May 19, 2010 for a 16’ x 22’ all season sun room. The cost for this job was to be $52,500, and it was to take approximately 8 weeks to complete. At this time I have paid him $40,000. I have also paid $2000 for flooring, $40 for light fixtures, $9300 for air conditioning, and there is an outstanding bill for electrical work totaling $6672. Bob has not showed up to work on my job for over 4 weeks. We have called him many times and he will not return our phone calls. We have been in touch with one of the men that worked for Bob and he informed us that Bob has no money and has “walked off” at least 3 major jobs at this point because he cannot pay for supplies or labor. There are also many smaller jobs that he has not completed. Most if not all of Bob’s workers have also stopped working for Bob because he owes them all money. My job has not been completed and I do not have a final CO. We have contacted a new contractor to come and finish the job. At this point we still need the following to be completed: Two triangle windows installed (the windows are here) Siding on the new addition Gutters on the addition Baseboard trim work Sheetrock the new fireplace area Complete electrical work Install a new electrical panel Two steps off the old deck Latches and saddle for new pocket doors Complete the cement board around the base of the addition to keep wildlife out. Removal of old air conditioning unit, then sheetrock and Plywood hole and insulate area.
