Owner came at the appointed time to review my request. He was very helpful with suggestions to keep the work affordable and workable as well. He suggested sod in the area that sloped down so a heavy rain would not wash away new seed, but used seed where it could be used on flat areas. In the area that has been a drainage problem, he created a trench and used stone to redirect water in a safe direction. The planting area became overrun with grass and weeds, so he removed them and edged the entire area before spreading Sweet Peat as a mulch. This was a challenging topography, but when he was done it looked great. This work was done by hand, using no machinery to damage adjacent areas. Another job well done by Enchanted Landscaping.

This job entailed coordinating for a surprise Mother's Day project for my daughter. My son in law made arrangements for my daughter to be away while the good people of Enchanted Landscaping completed this project. It took much prep time and plant selection ( without my daughters knowledge) and they were completely ok with a very limited time frame to complete their work. Not only did they complete the work on time, they went beyond the area they were responsible for. Much more than I ever expected. We were all thrilled with the look and my daughter had a super surprise Mothers Day gift when she returned. From arrival to clean-up in about 4 hours. I have used Enchanted Landscaping before with similar results and will be using them again in the future. From responding to my initial call to finishing my projects, we felt comfortable with their professionalism. By mixing our ideas with ideas and recommendations of their own, we were completely satisfied with our landscaping project. You will not find a more competent or harder working team than Enchanted Landscaping.

Enchanted Landscaping is a husband and wife team with one additional employee. We had them out to give us an estimate, and the wife, Adriana, came out and told us that the work we needed would take approximately one day. Our next meeting with them, the husband, Jonathan, who does all the physical work said he believed the work would take two days- so already we have a discrepancy. The work that we asked them to complete was to extend some of our existing beds, edge the existing beds, mulch all of the beds and also create a fairly sizable new bed for a new garden that we were planning to plant ourselves. I walked the property with them to determine how much mulch we would need. During this time, they were trying to convince us to buy a product other than mulch, something called sweet peet. I told them I would likely consider sweet peet for the new garden next year once it was all planted but that I wanted mulch everywhere else, I was also clear to tell them that their estimate for mulch should not include the new garden because after the sod was ripped up by them, I had planned to amend the soil before fall planting, therefore it would make no sense to lay mulch down there. At this time, we didn't even have exact dimensions for the new garden. When the mulch arrived, it was a very large amount in the middle of my driveway. The first day of work, Jonathan accomplished a lot. He had one other employee with him. The second day, we had given him specifications for the new garden and expected to come home and find the sod ripped up and all of the mulch placed throughout the property. Instead, we found half of the mulch still in the middle of our driveway and no new garden bed created. We saw that our credit card was charged for a second full day of work for two people. We could not imagine what they did to earn a full day of work when they didn't do the biggest project during their time at our house on day two. Not to mention they had estimated double the amount of mulch that we would need- which is now an expense on us that we cannot recoup. I also noticed that he cut down to the ground all of the daffodils I had throughout the property. Anyone who knows anything about daffodils knows you don't cut them back because if you do, especially before the stalks have turned brown and withered, they will not come back. So at this point, we have wasted hundreds of dollars on Mulch that will not get used and I am going to have to replace all of my spring bulbs. We called Adriana and Jonathan about this and Adriana said that they would work something out about the mulch and that the new garden could be created in 2 hours by Jonathan himself. A few days later, Jonathan came and said they it would actually take two people half a day to create that garden bed- again a discrepancy. He went on to say that the reason we have as much leftover mulch as we did was because they added the new garden into the estimate. I reminded him that I was standing there with him while he took measurements for mulch and I expressly stated that I was not placing mulch in a new garden before I place plants in it- it would be a waste of time an money for me. He started to get angry. I also asked him about the bulbs that he cut back. He clenched his fists and grunted in a most unprofessional way and said that he has a certificate in landscaping and I was welcome to come to his house to see it. He said that bulbs like daffodils divide over the years and need to be dug up and divided and that a lot of people don't like to dig them up in the fall and divide them. I said that I do regularly divide my daffodils for that is how I can double my plants for free- but because of him I will now have to buy all new bulbs because he cut mine down ensuring they will not grow and flower next spring. He agreed to come back in the next few days to figure out where to put the mulch. He said he was not sure when he could come back which is ridiculous- he should have been able to give us a date and time. I said that the mulch could not stay in the middle of our driveway indefinitely since we were having guests for the Fourth of July. He came back on July 1st, put some of the mulch around the property and dragged about two hundred dollars of mulch on my tarp into the woods surrounding our house rendering the remainder of the mulch useless and the tarp inaccessible.

Overall, our experience with this husband and wife team was unprofessional to say the least. Adriana says one thing and Jonathan says another. They over promise and under deliver and the end result has cost me more out of pocket expenses in mulch and new bulbs. And last of all they never completed the main job they were hired for- creating the new garden bed. I would stay as far away as possible from this unprofessional, inefficient company.
