"Thank you for your review...we came out to give you a free estimate. Which we did, free of charge, on our time. You obviously did not like our price, sorry. Good luck in the future. You missed out on a great service company!"
Would highly recommend and will use again.
We called first thing in the morning with no heat, and they sent someone out within 2 hours. They replaced a part in the gas furnace and we had heat! Fabulous!
I would never recommend WB Dickinson to any Angie's List subscriber. This company did not stand behind its work, and has still not fixed the problem they created. Customer service and quality workmanship were completely absent from the job they did for us.
We are also filing a complaint with the BBB.
UPDATE: Tom Dickinson -(I believe he is the founder) -personally returned to the house and fixed leaks and other issues, and made certain all joints and fittings were tight. He was very thorough. We are satisfied with his response and appreciate his responsiveness.
They finally fixed what needed to be fixed...
The crowning touch was charging us for addition work that they said they did but never informed us of it in advance..
"First off, I’d like to report that any and all “incompetent” employees have been let go and/or no longer work with us. That being said, none of those employees were working with us at the time of this remodel (2010), and all of my employees currently receive rave reviews job in and job out of the attention to detail and the way they clean up after themselves. This review, some 3 years after completion, by the [member name removed], is somewhat inaccurate. At the time of completion, they, like many other customers with this type of remodel, had a small punch-list of items to take care of. My crew went through the punch-list, immediately after the anticipated completion, and completed the items in a timely manner. The vanity light fixture was a little off center, which was moved, wall patched, and painting repaired; a couple of tiles were cut a little too small, they were removed, and re-installed with tighter grout joints, re-grouted/caulked. In regards to the “extra costs” at the end of the job...the framing for the 2nd floor joists and bathroom ceiling were literally missing and the ones that were there, were either rotted or in the wrong places. In order to properly install the new walls and re-sheetrock, we would need to re-frame the entire area above and around the toilet nook. My carpenter called me during this process, prior to performing any “extras” and asked if he should make the repairs that were needed. I told him “definitely”, and to keep tract of how much time it took him and what he used for materials. I guess we should have stopped work at this point and asked them ([member name removed]) if they wanted us to repair the framing prior to re-sheetrocking (at an additional cost), or just keep working. However, instead of stopping work, delaying the project, and pushing the job back, we made the decision to go ahead with the re-framing, and continue along the remodeling process. The end result was 2 men working all day and completely re-framing the walls and ceiling of the bathroom area around the toilet. [member name removed] were charged an extra $600 for all the labor and materials to do this, which we ended up splitting (for $300) when all was said and done. To top off this unnecessary complaint, the [member name removed] failed to mention the 15+ hours of labor my carpenter spent on the 2nd floor bathroom [re-painting shelving, re-painting walls, re-siliconing the shower door, moving heat covers, re-grouting the shower walls, re-doing the trim work] all at NO CHARGE to please the customers. Keep in mind this bathroom, was completed 3.5 years prior in November of 2006, therefore the normal 1 year warranty on all remodeling work was expired. In closing, this complaint and threat of the BBB, is un-warranted and un-needed. W.B. Dickenson does all it can to try and please the customer and give each job the attention and workmanship it deserves. We were more than fair with the [member name removed] and are happy to show anyone hundreds of pictures of remodeling projects (including theirs) and provide numerous references from satisfied customers [not on Angie’s List] contradicting what the [member name removed] have said about our company."
