Unique Pavers

After a long run of patience expended on this company I have formed the following review: After first waiting a year or so to get them out here, which they finally did after mentioning there was water leaking into the basement from the original installion of the front step (not by them), we were fine with. They have a lot of work booked and it was understandable at first that we needed to be on a list. After redoing our front step and walkway and paying for it in full as soon as it was finished, we noticed in the weeks to come that the polymer/grout on the step was still not set and spongy to the touch. We spent extra on a nice bluestone and expected only the best. We did as instructed and left the doormat off of it for even longer than instructed to ensure it has plenty of time to dry and set. My wife and I thought maybe this normal. The job was done in June of ‘22 and by the fall we noticed it was still not set. We patiently and courteously contacted the company several times, just to be blown off. We resumed this with continued patience the following spring. After numerous attempts, we were told they would make it out here before long. They never showed. All the while, we wondered if the leaking in the basement is going to come back or if water is going to seep where it shouldn’t and cause other issues. It is now almost two years later and I decided to contact them again. I heard back promptly this afternoon saying that they were backed up all last year and they “may” be able to come out in a few weeks when it warms up. UNACCEPTABLE - Too backed up starting new jobs that are already scheduled that you can’t come out and button something up you’ve already been paid for? You don’t want to make someone else wait? What about me?! After thinking this over one final time, my wife and I decided out of principle that we were not going to go with this company to finish the work they started, just to possibly wait, be let down, and miss a different contractor’s window of early season scheduling. One thing I’ve learned from being a contractor in a different trade myself, is that it doesn’t matter how small the job is, or if you’ve already been paid for it and if you are well established and can probably make more money by focusing on the next job instead of making right by buttoning up some past job, you do the right thing anyway and button up what you started. The only thing that saved this review from being only one star is how good the walkway came out, not the front step.

We have a new house that needed a patio in the backyard. Unique Pavers came out to my house quickly after I contacted them and helped me design the patio. After describing what I had in mind, they gave suggestions that really improved the final design. They also pointed out drainage issues that they say, and suggested what could be done. They came back in a few weeks (as promised) and installed the patio, and graded the yard in about 3 days. The workmanship was very good, and the patio came out excellent. The drainage in the yard is also much improved. I would recommend Unique Pavers to anyone interested in having a patio installed.

They are a local company. They were good and professional. They had a good product. We were happy with the job. We will use them again in the future.
