We needed to install a new gas boiler in a property and it was an emergency (oil furnace died suddenly and we were in the process of researching other fuel options.) When I called for an appointment, I was not originally overly impressed with the person who answered the phone. The sales person, however, compensated for the lack I experienced. He met as scheduled and I was impressed with the questions he asked to determine our needs. Since the local gas company had already visited the property and indicated where the lines would be installed, measurements were taken to get a good estimate of the job. We received quotes on two high efficient boilers and were provided with the pros and cons of each. We were also given a recommendation and the reason for the recommendation. Since we were getting other quotes for comparison reasons, we told our salesperson we'd review all the quotes and get back to him. There was no pressure to choose his quote but he provided us with some questions that we should have answered by contractors we were looking at. He then allowed us time to review and compare what we received. We decided to select his quote because we needed the installation to be done immediately and he assured us the company could pull a crew to get it done.
The job was huge as the gas line needed to be installed to bring gas into the building. Once that was done and the contract was signed, Mitchell started the process by getting the materials delivered, etc. They were able to pull their "most sought after technician" for our job and even though there was a holiday week-end nestled in the middle of the install, we had an operating system on December 8th. The estimated completion date was 12/5 but given the fact they accommodated our emergency, we felt it was still a great experience considering how much work was involved. Not to be ignored are the many individuals that had to touch this project (inspect, signoff, etc). The new system is running well and we will definitely use Mitchell again!
I needed a service call prior and was at that time forewarned the system I had was antique.
The day the system finally went out it was -5 and with 3 children it was panic time.
They kindly offered space heaters and next day full system replaced.
There may be others who could charge less but no one else will be able to stand behind their work.
They stand behind everything they do 110% and never nickel and dime things.
A friend I have is 80 something years old. She speaks quite highly still of the owner John Sr.
And how and quot;just get it fixedand quot; was ways the priority.
From 50 years ago she still speaks of how money never was #1 it has always been about keeping South Windsor warm and comfortable.
I know they care and will always be around to help if there's ever any other problems.
