A & B Cooling & Heating Corp
About us
Since 1973 A&B Cooling & Heating Corp. has been keeping their customer’s homes a safe and comfortable environment. Always seeking systems that provide the greatest efficiency and comfort levels, A&B began installing geothermal systems in 1995. Since that time, with over 500 satisfied geothermal customers, we have become leaders in geothermal technologies. As a WaterFurnace dealer we earned the GEOPRO credential which ensures all of our technicians are factory trained and continue that training with yearly continuing education. As well as being WaterFurnace factory trained, our technicians are fully licensed and insured in the State of CT. Our installation crews are fully licensed and insured or are fully registered apprentices. On staff we have a Certified Geothermal Designer to ensure your system will provide the efficiency WaterFurnace equipment is known for. A&B also has NATE certified geothermal technicians on staff for that extra level of trust in knowing the job will be done correctly the first time. A&B Cooling & Heating Corp. is a proud member of IGSHPA, GEO, CTGEO, and NEGPA. We are Energy Star credential ACCA-QA, IGSHPA Accredited, a WaterFurnace GEOPRO rated dealer, NATE certified, and a LEED building partner. Having a system installed by A&B ensures the crews installing and servicing your system are at the top of their field.

The first piece of this big puzzle was to remove my old oil-boiler. A&B arranged to install the new (hybrid electric) water heater first so we would still have hot water throughout the demolition and subsequent installation work. Their plumbing guys were great, and really made it easy for me to work around the temporary installation while pulling out the old baseboard heater water pipes.
I worked closely with the owner (Guy) and foreman (Phil) when planning for the placement of the new ducting. At first, I was concerned that the new ductwork would interfere with head space in the basement or that the runs to the second floor would be unsightly or inconvenient...but thanks to their expert planning and execution, the end result was everything i could have hoped for: a very satisfying basement and ALL of the 2nd floor supply/return ducting was kept inside my newly vacated chimney chase. They also did a great job with supply and return grill placement, including several that were inconvenient to install, but just slightly nicer for me, which i really appreciated.
I took a few days off of work during the main installation days to see how this would all come together, and was impressed to see how thorough they were with sealing the joints (butyl tape). All of the basement and attic ducting was also very thoroughly insulated. A&B subcontracted the ground loop (trench and well drilling) to a company they work with frequently called Sima Drilling. They did great work as well.
The finished system is both beautiful and amazingly efficient. Now my house is always the perfect temperature (geo provides heating and cooling!), and I'm saving money hand over fist EVERY MONTH. A&B is a great company to work with, and Guy was very easy to get a hold of, which i really appreciated.
Take home message: A&B is a fantastic geothermal provider, and i would recommend them to anyone. If i could turn back the clocks, i would pick A&B in a heartbeat.
