Suburban did a great job removing the old rug and installing a new vinyl floor for our church classroom. The guys were professional and efficient. They cleaned up the area when the job was done.

Great experience working with John at Suburban! This is a one-stop, full service home improvement company. It started with exterior work based on a neighbor’s recommendation (hardscape patio with custom classic wrought iron railings) and that went so well, in the next few months, we also did a basement remodel with vinyl flooring, and will soon be starting a kitchen remodel. We appreciate the flexibility and listening to what we really wanted (not pushing their own opinion). Don’t wait to get started working with Suburban!

They painted walls and trim and did not make a total mess. Just took a little longer than expected. Overall, It was not bad and what I would call a commercially acceptable job.

Hired this company to replace rotten exterior wood around windows, caulk and re-paint as well as other general painting. I like that they are a one-stop shop. John, the owner, is responsive and easy to work with. He even pitches in to complete work himself when his team is out of capacity. I recommend this business and will hire them again.

Hired John and Suburban LLC to remove old wallpaper, patch and restore, and paint multiple rooms. John has a great eye for detail and recommended ways to make our nearly 100-year-old home look fresh. He was also able to help us do a nice facelift to our bathroom, including painting the vanity, replacing the medicine cabinet with a mirror, and replacing the lighting. He communicated frequently and was always courteous and responsive.

I needed my carpet removed upstairs and was given many names. They called and showed up but didn't follow through or never called back . Along comes Suburban. They started immediately and noted that I could not use prefinished wood as it had little ridges in it that would not math the downstairs. They got unfinished wood and matched my existing floors exactly I was amazed. I am so happy with my floors and so glad that the others didnt call back or show up. Great work. I will continue to use them fr other projects

John and his team were very professional, careful and attentive to detail. Any minor problems that I observed and reported to him received his careful and thoughtful attention, then corrected cheerfully. The entire project--scraping, sanding, caulking, painting and staining exterior of our residence--was excellent. When we discovered some small sections of accumulated wood rot and minor damage, John happily agreed to repair, prior to finishing. Some contractors might have just "covered it up," not attentive and trustworthy John. We are planning to engage Suburban again this coming Spring for both interior and exterior additional work.

In the summer of 2017 I hired John & his team at Suburban to paint the exterior of my home. We've done many renovations at my house & I also work from home so these comments are from a homeowner that has seen lots of contractors over 12+ years & I've had the opportunity to be onsite for the majority of projects at my house. Our overall project entailed prepping & painting the entire home. We have wood clapboard & wood shingles. Approximately 50% of our house is what I would consider older (original) wood, while the other 50% is new from additions & renovations. The first step involved getting multiple quotes. John was the first to respond to our request and the first to submit a written quote. I valued the efficiency and bias for action, but more importantly I appreciated the attention to detail on a number of issues with our exterior on the older parts of the home - fixing and replacing shingles, wood root around windows, scraping older siding to ensure longevity and more - many of the homes in West Hartford have these issues so when hiring someone to paint your house I think it's worth it to look at the other fixes that can be done as well. John's thoroughness was helpful in us identifying these issues upfront and getting a fair & reasonable estimate on the cost to repair these things. During the finalization of the contract John was available to talk, he was flexible and understanding, and he confirmed his insurance coverage. They say the prep is the most important part in painting, and from the likes of my house's project I can probably attest to that. First off, John and his team power washed the house and then sanded down to the wood on roughly 25% of the house initially. After further assessment, we both determined that some of the older, original, parts would need to be sanded as well. This was an unforeseen development, but something that can happen with older homes and John had advised me on that at the outset. However, understanding this was an unexpected cost, John deducted the a portion of the time spent prepping those areas & credited back to us a portion of the amount in order to help offset the sanding & prep cost of those additional areas. Any place that was sanded was down to the bare wood. It was then primed with primer, top-shelf caulk and in many cases the clapboard was smoothed out even more. This process essentially gets all of the old paint off & ensures longevity and avoids pealing over time. What it also does is it makes all of the boards smooth so that you don't see jags & pits in the wood itself. For us, it was worth it to spend the extra money on the sanding. We opted for two coats on the house & the trim. We had multiple pieces of rotted wood replaced, as well as some lighting, shingles and a few other small carpentry related fixes. Most of this was quoted upfront, but some of it was added as we went. I felt like John was fair with the pricing all the way through. Having a crew that can do some of

painting the exterior of my house was a huge project---i chose suburban painters. the crew was amazing from start to finish---they scraped, sanded, caulked & reglazed the windows as if it were their own property--- much, much attention to detail. they worked incredibly hard, without breaks & always addressed any concern i may have had. john, the owner, was more than patient & very flexible---giving me space when i was having difficulty choosing a color---i don't think i would have gotten that understanding & concern from another company. great job---couldn't have asked for better!,

John at Suburban painting is great. The paint job itself was of very high quality. John and all the painters were professional and courteous everyday. They clean up'd after themselves on a daily basis and John kept me informed of changes and questions throughout the entire project. John made sure to get the project right while sticking to his original quote. They also completed the job on time despite changes throughout the project. I would recommend them to anyone and will continue to hire them for future jobs.
