Great!  John and Johnny couldn't inspect the roof because of the storm but they went back on a clear day to check it out.  They were telling me everything about the house that I didn't know which I appreciated very much.

It went well with the company. He has performed 2 prior inspections and I have used him a 3rd time. His inspections are always very thorough.

Easy to recommend these guys. Johnny was there when I arrived, already checking out the outside of the house. Very thorough throughout. Even impressed my real estate broker who has been through dozens of these inspections. She made sure to get his contact information. Extremely thorough and explained everything as he went along; even provided some suggestions for ongoing maintenance beyond the scope of his work. Summary: responsive, prompt, professional, thorough and a very nice guy to work with. These are the guys I'd call if I had to do it again. Highly recommended.

We are relocating via a corporate relocation to the Danbury area, and John and his son were there promptly with their entire inspection team. A1 Septic (coordinated through HomeQuest) began the septic testing while the well testing people also began their work. Everyone was extremely polite and thorough and gave full and detailed explanations to both my wife and I. Detailed reports were then provided in a very timely fashion and well written. I had that later that night actually. John gave good advice, when appropriate, and provided in the report additional links to additional information on various topics.
It was so easy to schedule all the inspections through HomeQuest instead of each at a time that it made the entire process painless. I would definitely recommend HomeQuest to anyone looking for inspections in Western CT!

John Koch showed up on time with his son and various inspection companies. They went over the entire house starting outside and then came inside. He was very thorough throught the entire inspection process. He along with each of the different inspectors one at a time, explained each phase of their inspection and provided reasons and reccomendations if they found someting that needed to be corrected. A written report was provided from each inspector and lab.

I called Home Quest and spoke with Kristen. She was friendly and helpful and we were able to get an appointment for the next day. John was our home inspector and he was very personable and friendly, making us very at ease during the inspection process. He arrived early and had already started inspecting the exterior of the home. He was very informative and described each area of the home as he inspected it. He brought separate inspectors for heating and pests which I thought was great to have specialists inspect those areas. Each of those specialists were equally knowledgable and made sure we understood their findings in the home. The report was very thorough with photos and assessments. The pricing is very competitive and a fair value. A great job all around by John and his team!

Johnny is extremely knowledgeable in his craft. He explains everything as he is examining the entire house, very friendly .he provides a detail report that same night. Johnny was recommended by my realtor. I had looked up home quest and saw good reviews. Johnny turned out to be honest and in returned he spotted a major defect. He did what he was paid to do. I will use him again, Remember you get what you paid for, if you base your decision base on a savings coupon then good look. Then do the home inspection your self. I rather pay more and get the best.

He arrived early and after securing the homeowners approval, begin his inspection of the outside of the house before I even arrived. It was pouring rain, he gave me his umbrella, put up his hood and walked me around showing me everything he found. He was extremely respectful to the homeowner, bringing his own towels and shoe covers to make sure nothing got wet. He was very thorough in his inspection and encouraged me to accompany him, explaining everything he found in great detail during the whole process. I learned quite a bit about the house and he gave me some great tips and info. As part of the service he brought in experts to inspect the boiler and check for termite damage. The final report was emailed to me that evening and was very comprehensive and detailed, including annotated pictures of damaged areas. Follow up questions that I had weeks later I emailed and John responded quickly and thoroughly.

The entire visit was very professional. John arrived early and started working on the outside of the house. He and his team were very thorough and sent me a detailed report with lots of photos. John patiently answered all of my questions and pointed things out to me that might need to be fixed or replaced at a later stage. He showed me where to find the circuit breakers and the place where the gas had once come into the house. He gave me bits of advice about where to insulate and how to prevent the wood from rotting at the ground level in the garage. In short, I highly recommend Home Quest. I had an excellent experience.

I chose Home Quest in part because they were recommended by the company handling my corporate relocation, but additionally because they undertake arranging for the needed panels of experts (pest, well, septic and heating systems inspectors) and also arrange for radon and water quality tests. This makes for a very long inspection appointment but it's so much more convenient for someone moving to an area from a distance as well as the Realtor who needs to be on hand to supervise these processes. Equally convenient is the online scheduling feature on their website, as it allows a potential client who needs to schedule an appointment to view their availability and make the appointment outside of normal working hours (which is when those of us who are working are too busy to make appointments!), so that the travel and time out of office to be at the inspection can be arranged well in advance.
Both John and his son were on hand for my inspection. The experience itself was a little overwhelming just because there are so many efficient and professional experts swarming all over the property, but I had ample opportunity to spend uninterrupted time with each of them to go over the inspection findings for his particular piece and get my questions answered and concerns addressed. Each of the experts John selected was thorough, knowledgeable and professional. Because there were so many inspectors to talk to, I didn't have the opportunity to "shadow" John and Johnny on their rounds through the house (as I've done with other home inspections I've had conducted), but they both were thorough and meticulous in documenting their findings with photographs and in my overview with them these were used to show me the items that I "missed" by not climbing onto the roof or attic, so I don't consider this a negative. Both were very patient and professional and provided ample information without being patronizing (something that isn't always the case with home trades professionals dealing with female clients). When everybody left, you could not tell that anybody had been there.
I had written reports from all participants in hand either before I left or by e-mail that evening. I'm hoping that all goes well with the sale and i won't need to use Home Quest again, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate!

As a first-time homebuyer, I found John to be very knowledgeable, thorough, down-to-earth, and personable. John actually arrived at the site early, and had completed a full inspection of the exterior, specifically the roof, chimney, and drainage systems prior to our arrival. He carefully conducted his inspection both internally and externally, and pointed out issues for immediate or future updates as we navigated through each section of the house. John was patient with our questions, providing us with informed analyses and alternatives for consideration, but consistently recommending that we do need to do our homework to identify the best options for our lifestyle, needs, and budget. An inspection report was prepared and provided to us the same evening of the inspection -- there were also a good number of photographs identifying key areas of concern..

The house also passed the termite inspection with flying colors and no sign of pests! We would retain John and Michael again for any inspections needed.

I liked the fact that he brought specialists with him to look at the other things that needed to be looked at. It was nice to have everyone there at one time. He was very courteous and took the time to answer any questions that I had. He wanted to make sure that I knew what was going on. He let me look at everything along with them and he didn't rush the job. He offers the radon test separately and it was definitely worth doing. He was professional. I would definitely recommend him. The price was average. I would use them again.

They came, inspected, took lots of pictures and explained everything to us. The actual report was in our hands less than 48 hours later. When I had a question about our report John returned my call promptly.

We had a lot of bad luck in our search for a home. So, we had a total of four inspections before finally closing on a house. As a result, we spent a lot of time with John. He gave us a lot of good information about home maintenance. He also alerted us to areas that might cause trouble for us in the future. He was always very professional and thorough. We would certainly use him again if the need arose.
