I had a terrible experience with this company and will never use them again (which is too bad because I had planned to replace my entire first floor with the reclaimed chestnut flooring). My husband I went in to look at the wood flooring that this company had available. The showroom is very nice and does a good job of displaying the different types of wood & finishes. We discussed with the salesman, Marty Lufoff, what we were interested in. He gave me the name of an installer, Leo Robitaille, to come out to measure. I must have called the installer 6 times to make an appointment. Never received a call back which meant a month wasted. I call the salesman back and get another installer's name, who did come out and did measure. After the measurements were complete I get a quote emailed to me from this same first installer, Leo Robitaille, who would never get back to me. That was weird. So, I ask the salesman what is going on and I get some weird story that never made any sense to me, but he admits that Leo Robitaille is the owner of River Bend Wood Floor Co. The whole thing was very weird. Against my better judgment I placed the flooring order, which was expensive, and was told that I needed to pay 100% upfront. Against my better judgment I paid in full because this was the only way that I would have gotten the wood or else I would have had to start all over with another company. We paid for the wood and were told that it would be delivered on a specific Saturday by 11am. We were leaving for an international trip the next day and needed to be at our apt in NYC, but made it work to be at our house in CT for wood delivery. Of course the wood doesn't show up by 11am and I call the salesman at noon and was told that he would check into it and get right back to me. An hour and a half goes by and I get no call back. I call again and get him on the phone. He has a bit of an attitude with me and says that there will be no delivery today and it will have to be next week. I reminded him that we had to be out of the country the next week. So, we had to leave our house unlocked for delivery. We get back from our two week trip and get to our house to find the door still unlocked and only a partial delivery. At this point my husband is pretty livid and calls up the salesman to find that the salesman has another job at the company, but the new person said she would contact him and get right back to us. Of course NO phone call back. My husband calls again. Gets the same story. No phone call back. He calls a third time and the new person said, "the salesman said he called you" which was a untrue. Finally, the salesman does call back and gives some song and dance that the missing wood would be delivered on Monday. There was a significant amount of missing wood and we had the installer scheduled to start work that week (the wood has to sit and cure in the house for 4 to 5 days before installation). So, like idiots we don't go back to the city and wait Monday for the delivery of the missing wood. Of course there is no delivery. My husband calls the showroom again and gets some song and dance. Tuesday, the next day, I say to my husband that we are never getting the wood and were total fools for dealing with this company. I had to do an extensive search on the owner, Leo Robitaille, in order to obtain Mr. Robitaille's cell phone number. My husband, who is a NY lawyer, called Mr. Robitaille's cell phone and he picked up. Mr. Robitaille immediately knew who we were. My husband was livid, but controlled and basically had to insinuate a lawsuit if we didn't get the delivery that day. A few hours later some lone delivery guy shows up with the rest of the wood. All of this delayed installation and was a huge headache. Honestly, if I wouldn't have gotten my hands on the owner's cell phone number I don't think that we would have ever received the wood. I will never use this company ever again.
