Excellent. Took about 5 days for parts to come in. Once they were in took Bob 3.5 days to complete the work and finish off the trim.
Description of Work: Replaced 2 doors and modified 1 door. Had the inner door from garage to house replaced to meet code and a wine room door in the basement was converted from bi-fold to French Doors. Sliding doors in master bedroom closet was converted to dual open doors.
All of the work Bob has done for us has gone so well that we keep having him come back to do more work! We have not only loved the finished product every time, but we have also loved the process; working with Bob has been terrific and we consider him a life-long friend. I don't know what his best attribute is - his attention to detail, his practical common sense and money-saving suggestions, his reliability, his eye for symmetry and function, or his desire for perfection in his work while keeping an eye on the overall budget. Not only does Bob provide exemplary work, he brings along a full team of great tradespeople who are good at what they do and simply good people. I trust Bob with all our work and feel he always has our back when the inevitable questions arise, even long after the work is done. He truly cares about his work and his wide circle of clients/friends. Having a trustworthy friend who knows our home inside and out has been priceless. We feel blessed to have connected with Bob 13 years ago through mutual friends and we have recommended Bob to countless other friends. We are truly grateful for his help and counsel all these years and would not consider another contractor for any job, big or small.
Description of Work: Bob Malcy of Residential Renovations has done significant work for us over the last 13 years. Our longstanding relationship began when he completely renovated our antique home 13 years ago, adding a two story kitchen and master suite, which included numerous custom details so that the finished product was in keeping with its antique charm, but also fully updated. Bob is currently re-configuring and updating three bathrooms, adding a number of custom built-in bookshelves, a built-in window seat, and a built-in bar. Additionally, Bob and his fabulous team gutted-to-the-studs and completely renovated a three bedroom, three bathroom rental home including a number of custom built-ins - cabinets, a kitchen banquette a mudroom bench and a very large custom window seat.

All of our experience with Residential Renovations has far surpassed any expectation. ?I would not consider having anyone but Residential Renovations do work in our primary home or our rental home. ?Bob handles all aspects of the job giving much-needed advice throughout the process. ?He works well with our input, and is patient with our numerous changes along the way! The subcontractors that Bob hires are all reputable, wonderful craftsmen, always available to explain things or help with inevitable future problems. ?The extra money it costs to have reputable craftsmen on your job more than pays for itself over the years in peace of mind and help when it's needed. ?Owning an antique, historic home has been an education for us; many things need repairing or remodeling, but Bob's been there to help us through everything. ?Bob Malcy has been a trusted contractor for years; indeed he is a trusted friend for life. We sleep soundly at night and are forever grateful for discovering Bob Malcy and Residential Renovations!
Description of Work: Bob Malcy, of Residential Renovations, has provided superior workmanship for us on several major renovations on both our primary home and on a rental property. Several years ago, Bob added a major addition to our historic home including a family room with fireplace, gourmet kitchen and a new master suite. This work included several custom bookshelves, and a custom desk hidden behind custom doors. This past summer, Bob completely gutted and renovated a dilapidated rental home transforming it into a darling three bedroom/ three bath cottage. This work required overcoming numerous challenges with local zoning regulations and Bob was able to make all needed adjustments. Currently, Bob is about to begin renovating/updating three bathrooms in our home in addition to building a window seat in our family room and converting an underused closet to a bar area as well as a number of other carpentry projects.

Perfect. Carpenter was an expert with decades of experience . The new sliders look fantastic. I am a 'weekend warrior', with the basic skills to have completed the project on my own, but it would never have looked like what it looks like today. While the removal of the doors went without issue, it was the complexity posed by the re-installation of the new sliders. I still don't know how he got them level and sliding perfectly. I guess that is the secret of experience. On to the next project and i won't hesitate for a moment to hire this company again. FYI, we are comparitive shoppers, so it was not a slam dunk for this company to win our business, he had competition and won handily. He came well recommended too.
Description of Work: removed 2 pair of 25 year old sliding glass doors in our lower level family room, warped and out of skew. Each door was the standard 6 feet long. And replaced them with Anderson sliders.
