I started working with Brendan Leahy at the recommendation of a realtor and it has not been good. He uses subcontractors but doesn't manage or oversee their work well - leading to avoidable delays, damage and expense. He doesn't communicate well, doesn't identify errors and poor quality. I have to work hard to get in touch with him or to get work done. Currently on week 21 of a 10 week job with about a month to go if he gets the work done at all. I wish I had seen other reviews before hiring him, but he currently works under a new company name: Built Right Construction out of Redding CT (CR No 2949751) which is new in 2024 so the reviews haven't caught up to him yet under the new name.

Was not upfront with budget. Did not tell us until job was completed that we were over budget after requests that we made to see where we were.

They started working, then water leaked through holes that were unfinished causing more damage to the home. He finished the roof, but he did not repair the things inside my home that were damaged during the roofing job. He told us in may that he couldn't get to it until July. Now, he refused to return phone calls and email. We had to hire another contractor to fix it. He will not take any calls from us. we even written letter. He has not responded to either.

Nightmare experience.
The quality of the work was awful and had to be completely re-done.  A sample, not a complete list, of problems - corners not cut in, woodwork painted without wiping away sanding dust, empty cans left on hardwood floors, furniture damaged when thrown in a pile in the middle of a room, walls in the same room painted different colors, ceilings painted without covering newly-refinished floors, and more.  Plus, while we were out of town during the job, he misrepresented the status of the job in order to induce us to make a partial payment.
Caveat emptor.

He was awesome. They painted my hallway and stairs. The trim looked bad. So they also did the trim upstairs and in the bedroom. They did all that for the amount that I paid. At the end of the day there was no way that they did all this work for just what I paid for the Living Social coupon. I gave them another $300.00 but he would have done it anyway. He did a really good job. He did it all in one day which was like amazing. He was very meticulous and careful in not getting paint on anything. When anybody does trim work they do it a little floppy and get a little bit on the part of the wall as the paint color was different from the trim. But he did very good work. When I had people working in my house there was always a disruption. They were always asking about something or needing anything. I worked all day with this guy and it was not like he was even here. He did what he needed to do and left me alone. It was no problem.

LHI and its subcontractors showed up when expected, did superb work, all while showing the utmost respect for our family and home. The attention to detail, the style advice, and responsiveness to our needs was exceptional.
