Terry came exactly as promised- he sanded the old wood floors and refinished them. They are gleaming and beautiful. It took several days for them to dry, but it was well worth it. We were told there would be fine dust covering everything so there were no surprises

A terrific experience.  This is the third time we have used Terry for a flooring job.  As always he is professional, responsive, hard working, punctual, and insistent on doing the job right.

Terry removed the portion of the flooring that buckled and determined that the problem was not moisture as originally suspected, but that there was insufficient gap left where the flooring met the fireplace hearth. The floor buckled at a weak point beyond the hearth. The new flooring, compared with the rest of the original flooring is laid much tighter, the original flooring has gaps between the boards. Terry sanded the entire floor and put down multiple coats of finish. Floor looks fantastic!

We had three companies quote this flooring.  The first two came to the house, did a quick measurement of the floor, and left with out saying much.  Mr. Korth came to the house, measured the floor and drew a layout.  He then looked at what type sub floor was used and found some previous water damage in one area.  He explained that the top layer of the particle board sub floor should be replaced with plywood if the floor was to be nailed down.  After that, he spent time with us discussing the different types of flooring and moldings we could choose from along with their advantages and disadvantages.  He was extremely detail oriented and was a great help to us in choosing the flooring and molding.  As noted, the quote was comparable to others.  But, Mr. Korth's attention to detail convinced us to go with him.  As it turned out, that attention to detail went into every part of the job.  For example, before starting the floor installation, Mr. Korth showed us some options for laying out the flooring.  As a result, instead of the flooring going straight through the unit we have the boards going one way in the kitchen and hallway and the other way in the living room and dining room.  It has a really nice look.  And the joints where the two directions meet are perfect.  Another example is his treatment of the existing molding.  As the floor went in Mr. Korth was not pleased with how some of the existing molding would look if he just left it as is.  We agreed that he should change it and it looks great.  He also patched in the bottom parts of molding going around several door frames where it was previously cut for a previous installation.  Those pieces are so well matched you can't see them.  Mr. Korth was easy to work with and provided thoughtful suggestions through out the process.  He also always cleaned up after himself.  So, at the end of the day we were not left with a mess.  We are glad we chose Mr. Korth to do the installation.  The floor looks great.
