First problem happened when they stripped my roof and neglected to tarp it overnight because (they said) it wasn't supposed to rain (first BIG mistake). Being in Connecticut, the weather can change from minute to minute, a reputable company would have taken this precaution automatic. It rained, I woke up to a downpour in my bed which came from a tiny screw hole in my ceiling, water coming from light fixtures and eventually making it down through my living room ceiling. What a mess! He made good on only repairing my living room ceiling and painting over the water stains in the master bedroom. Upon completion of the roof all seemed good, until it rained a couple weeks later. He sent a worker, he reflashed the chimney. Didn't work, still leaking. Came back and restepped the flashing in one area, didn't work. Third time brought caulk but admitted that it wasn't a good fix, this slowed the leaks but did not solve the problem. He wasn't the most professional through any of this but manageable. After his third attempt to find and fix the problem, he then became belligerent, yelling, blowing off scheduled appointments and finally refusing to correct the issue. He would commit to come by or send a worker, I would take the time off of work to be there and he would just not show up. I would call and he'd claim to be on his way and never showed up. After 8 months and multiple blow offs, even being yelled at and just really bad work I'm now contacting lawyers, insurance companies and it looks like hiring a different contractor to fix this. Not the way I wanted to spend another summer! The unprofessional work was only outdone by his unprofessional attitude. I am a single older woman. I spent my retirement on this project to avoid the damage that could occur down the road and now I'm left to come up with more money to fix what this guy refused to do. UPDATE: Called in a reputable contractor, it looks like he didn't touch areas of the roof that aren't visible without a ladder (my master bedroom roof is flat and portions of connecting roof) and did a horrible job on dormers, valley's and peaks. He took pictures of these areas and to the untrained eye, all neglected areas are very easy to identify. Off to the Dept. of Consumer Protection! I would hate for this to happen to others.
