Skylights

Skylights started having trouble after 11 years. One started leaking over the winter of 2006/07. Had it replaced but leak continued. We just got the whole back of the roof replaced. While the first roofing job was not the best, the problems started because Summit installed the skylights incorrectly. They put numerous holes in the upper shields causing water and rot damage to underlying wood over the years. This was uncovered when current contractor took of the old roof to put a new one on. It was so bad that new plywood was needed before putting up new shingles. When the skylight first started leaking during the winter, we called Summit. While they were prompt in sending someone out to put a tarp over the skylight, it blew off on the first night and they had to come out again. They sent a bill for $100 for that. We never paid it and did not hear from them again. It may be that they realized what they had done and decided to leave well enough alone.

THEY DO GOOD WORK. ONCE I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY DOOR NOT GOING UP, BUT THEY CAME TO MY HOUSE RIGHT AWAY AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE WHEN I CALLED.
