This job was a complete remodel. Rick, and his assistant Mark, gutted the old 1950's bathroom. Rick expertly built a new shower stall, floor, walls and ceiling. Everything was installed by the book with no shortcuts. Rick's high standards are evident everywhere. In the past I have had poor results with other contractors. They often look for shortcuts to speed up the work. I am done with lousy contractors. No so with Rick Ventura. Rick has done several jobs at our home. His results are the best. We will be doing more with him in the future. He comes with our highest recommendation.
Rick sets the standard for what a homeowner looks for with a contractor coming in and working on a project?punctual, friendly and engaging, considers all options, creative and highly skilled. Extremely versatile - with topnotch woodworking and drywall skills. Thoughtful and thorough with clean up, freely offered advice on do-it-yourself projects and ongoing maintenance issues, and took time to gather info for potential future projects.
Highly recommended!
There are few people I have met whom I recommend without reservation and he is in that select few. Met him by way of Angies List due to his great reviews. This review is a bit overdue as he basically spent the entire summer of 2014 doing this extensive remodel for us at a home we purchased in Canton. it was a complicated job because the house had some unsual characteristics. It is built on a rocky ledge so has a minimal crawl space basement, no attic due to vaulted ceilings, and the great room/kitchen is a vaulted hexagon, with a center large hexagon fire place.
He basically redid the entire space as described above, with the challenges of odd angles, creating walls of glass with very large windows, structural changes to the walls, paneled ceiling, installing beams, lots of hardwood floors that had to accomodate the hex shape of the room and the hex of the large center fireplace.
Bottom line, it is beautiful and I don't think anyone could have done it better.Like something you see in an architechural magazine. Have moved in and living in it for the past 4 months, and all the work is completly solid. I travel a lot for work, and no problem letting Rick and his crew just do their thing without you there
He is great to work with, it pains me to see the couple of negative reviews because he did not get back to a couple of folks with a quote. If there is one fault to him, it is that he is in high demand because of his work product, and I suspect it is difficult for him to effectively field all the requests for jobs that he receives.
If you are serious about wanting quality work at a fair price, then be persistent, but understand he does the work himself and he runs a tight small crew. He is not subcontracting out the work to god knows who like the guy who can show up tomorrow to give you a quote.
He made our house look stunning.
If you want it done right with an honest contractor, he is it. Am hoping to have him back this year for phase II.
