I had a horrible experience with a roofing company that I would like to share. I hired LA Rich Roofing Company from Plainville, which was a huge mistake on my part. The West Hartford Building Inspector failed the roof and told them in a report exactly what they needed to do to get it to pass. Bill from LA Rich yelled and screamed at me because the building inspector came to inspect the roof, he said the inspector was wrong, that he didn't know his job among other insults I won't repeat here. The inspector was nice enough to meet them at my house and show them exactly what had to be corrected. They never yelled at the inspector, though. I guess they felt more comfortable yelling at a 72 yr old woman, says a lot about them. There were also other problems with their work in which the owner Scott told me to go up on the roof and fix myself. Boy, did I pick the wrong roofing company! I just wanted to warn everyone of my experience. I will be handling things to have their faulty work corrected. I definitely do not recommend them.

They came out and gave their sales pitch, which we were impressed with. After getting a few quotes (this one was nowhere near the lowest) we decided to go with them. They said would be around 4 weeks out, ended up getting a call they'd be there in a little over a week. Whole roof was done in two days, installed very quickly. There were a bunch of nails around the perimeter of the house, but left generally clean with only limited impact from machinery moving and materials dragging. A few weeks after installation there was a rainstorm and water started leaking into the house. We called them, they came out two days later, told us oh this never happens, our roofs never leak. They get there, look on the roof, and they see they installed something incorrectly around the skylight, and that they would come back out and replace that section of the roof in a few days. They replaced that section, and a couple storms later water was leaking again. Went back and forth a couple times, they came out and still couldn’t figure it out. Also, the only time they’d answer the phone at this point was when I blocked my number or called from a different number. After over a year I was able to figure out that the water seemed to be coming in from where their ridge vent installation had ripped loose the aluminum framing along an upstairs window and water was getting in behind the siding there. A portion of the drywall on the ceiling and along the wall will have to be replaced, as well as the door, on our dime. To this day, after being told many times that they would send the rep out for our shingle warranty, we still have not received it. Not impressed with their lack of professionalism, the quality of their work, or their empty promises. Go with someone else.

Actual job went well, but after we discovered problems with the siding and they would not return our calls after we left numerous messages

They came out, they did their job and they did give me the quote. They were fine, respectful and they were on time with the appointment schedule.

Everything went great, Scott came out and gave me an estimate, which wasnt the lowest but competitive. After talking with friends who had their roofs done by others and were leaking after 5 years I decided to go with who I thought would do the best job and has a 25 labor warranty backed by the factory.

They came early in the morning on the day the said they would and stripped and replaced the roof all in the same day.
They picked up and cleaned after themselves and the roof looks great. The factory representative came over last  week to inspect the work and agreed everything was done correctly

Great experience from estimate to cleanup. There was no hard sales pitch. I received an estimate with samples and it was fair and competitive. It helped that LA RICH is GAF certified. The crew showed up on time in the morning to start work when scheduled and completed the work timely. Other than the new roof, I would have had no idea anyone was working on my house. The grounds were clean and more importantly, no damage to siding, bushes, or lawn.
