Zero stars!!!! Stay away!! He is so unprofessional, never responds mid project, is rude and he got paid in full half way through the job and had to stay on him to finish the job and he still did it half a**!!

Matt and his assistant worked really well with me and even when I added on a couple of small changes to the work outlined in our quote, it wasn’t a problem. His pricing is fair and I would hire him again… I already did hire him again. When he finished up my project I thought of another small project to have him come back in the next month. Satisfied client.

Excellent. Not the least expensive bid, but very fair. Only electrician (out of 4) to notice that we had plastic water pipe not copper from the street. We asked for a remote indicator light to notify us when the street power returned when using the generator. He said he had never had that request, but it wouldn't be any problem. When he returned to run through the generator start up procedure, he said that he had thought of a better way to wire the indicator light and that he would return to change it at no additional charge.
Showed up every time, on time.
Very satisfied. Would call him for any future work.

Matthew came out the week before and reviewed the are where it was to be hooked up. He gave me an estimate on the spot. We settled on an installation date within 24 hours. He delivered as promised.

Matt Vernotzy was hired to wire our house that was being built beginning in the Fall of 2009 and finishing in the Summer of 2010.
The problem is, he never finished the job, and a year later, we still have light fixtures that haven't been installed, smoke detectors that won't work properly, and five light switches we can't identify the connection to.
Matt always promised he'd be here to finish the work and he wouldn't even bother to call to say he wasn't coming; he'd just text me two hours after he was due here. According to my notes on my planner, this happened on seven separate occasions.
He stopped taking my calls and only when I called from a different number (and the phone number didn't register on his Caller ID as mine) would he answer the phone. Then he'd blubber around with some excuse (my daughter is sick, I have no daycare, etc.) as to why he couldn't come.
However, we'd see his truck parked outside other people's homes during that time he said he couldn't find a sitter for his daughter.
He is slow as molasses but his work was neat for the most part. He is very personable and was great during the planning phases of this project.
But when it came to tying up the loose ends, he dropped the ball in the worst way. Our C.O. was delayed due to the smoke detectors issue and my husband had to finally contact the manufacturer for guidance so that we could at least get them to not go off while the inspector was here.
Even though I told my husband NOT to pay him until ALL the work was completed, my husband fell for his charm and gave him the money. We called another contractor to see what he would charge us to finish up the details and we were told it would run us $1,800.
I wouldn't recommend Matt Vernotzy to anyone. Bad contactor. Just bad.
