Pawcatuck Roofing did an excellent job, working with the Trustees to minimize impact to the church building and avoiding pre-school children during the installation.  Vice president met with Trustees several times to answer questions and coordinate activities.  The job entailed multiple peaked roofs and flat roofs.  Roofing was coordinated to meet church needs.  This large job was completed quickly in about two weeks.  Pawcatuck Roofing was low bidder from three bidders and price was competitive.  Roofers returned to site to make some minor corrections.  Left extra shingles in the event of future roof damage.  Roofer had done work for church previously.  A very good job, done on time and for the agreed price.  Would recommend for future large roofing projects.

This is the letter I wrote and sent to Better Buisness Bureau.I hired Pawcatuck Roofing to strip and reroof in Spring of last year 2012.One month later it rained and I found water pouring down inside the house around my chimney damaging cieling and wall.I called thier office, spoke with secretary about problem and asked for Brent Holland (owner) to call me back. He called a few days later and said I probably needed more tar around chimney, which they did.About a month later it rained again, it was now slowly leaking inside around chimney and wall.I let Brent know what was happening, his explanation was I needed sealent on outside of chimney at a cost of 350.00.I said it never leaked before and that wasn't my problem.I asked him to remove shingles around chimney to see what was going on he said no.He offered to seal my chimney for free and add more tar.He did (3  coats of tar) . It rained again and it was still leaking down the chimney and wall.I called again and they said they were done with me and needed a licensed mason to look at my chimney because my chimney must need work. They insisted on a licensed  mason, which I hired for $50.00 cash who inspected it and said the chimney was sound and not the cause of the leak.Storm Sandy is now approching. I hire Spring Valley Building Co. to look at roof. They found my old flashing was there but not used on the up side of the chimney, with the water and ice and shingles just butted up against the chimney.Spring Valley repaired the roof at a cost of $585.00 .( leak repaired) I called Pawcatuck Roofing let them know what the problem was asked for reinbursement for repair around the chimney and damages inside the house to ceiling and wall.they said they would pay for damages inside the house but not the repair of roof or $50.00 for the mason they insisted I get.Now they are telling me I was told I needed new flashing at the beginning of the Job and I didn't authorize it. I relied on Pawcutuck Roofings skill and knowlege to provide me with what I needed and it dosen't make sense that after spending $5,650.00 on a job that I would not want and inexpensive piece of flashing ($40.00) to finish the job properly. My experience with Pawcatuck Roofing has been troublesome and exhausting.Small Claims Court is next.4/15/2013
Response from Pawcatuck Roofing Co
"Here is our response to the Better Business Bureau. To clarify Kathy Point is the homeowner [member name removed] is her boyfriend. " In response to the latest communication from Kathy Point - we were told by the Better Business Bureau on April 23, 2013 that this case #84116448 was closed. Her communication after this case was closed speaks of her continued harassment of Pawcatuck Roofing. Again, we told [member name removed] in the middle of this project that her chimney needed to be re-flashed with new flashing. She did not approve this additional work, therefore, we put tar around the chimney. It is not our responsibility or in our scope of work to give her new flashing after the chimney leaked and going around and around with [member name removed]. About her interior damage, we offered to give her $400.00 for the interior repairs, in a good faith effort to resolve this issue. She declined that offer and instead put a sign in her front yard for six weeks until we hired an attorney and incurred legal fees to get it taken down. This sign has cost Pawcatuck Roofing thousands in lost business, along with her continued harassment, slander and defaming Pawcatuck Roofing on Facebook and Angie's List. At this point we feel the case is closed." The Better Business Bureau confirmed the case was closed."

Pawcatuck Roofing responded to my request for an estimate within 24 hours. They came and gave an estimate the next day. They arrived to do the work on the day we arranged, on time and did the work. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up beautifully! They did the extra Tasks I asked for without complaint and were pleasant to have around.
I highly recommend Pawcatuck Roofing and will use them again when I need the rest of the roof replaced. AND the roof held up without a problem during Hurricane Sandy, winds over 85 MPH.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE COMPANY'S WORK BASED ON THEIR REPUTATION. IT COULD HAVE JUST BEEN THE QUALITY OF PEOPLE THAT THEY USED. IT ALSO COULD HAVE BEEN THAT THE ROOF WASN'T DONE UNTIL JANUARY WHICH CAUSED AN UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE.
