The other time was with our new house, where he did lots of updating bathrooms, patching ceilings, and other work.
Our experience this time was very satisfactory, as always. John is extremely meticulous, and very exacting in his work. He never leaves a mess, and puts things back the way they were. For most plumbing, tile, and electrical work, John subcontracts out work to people he's known for years.
The result is just what we've envisioned - we have a great working space in our laundry room. As part of the bargain, I got great advice from John on various home improvement projects, and as always, his invaluable words of wisdom on life in general. If you have any issues with the work, John will return your call within several hours, and will stand behind his job.
If we had other work to do in this house (built 1915) I'd not hesitate to use John again. He's very experienced in a wide variety of repair jobs, and he's seen it all. You won't regret asking him to take a look at your situation.
