We called Saybrook Contractors made an appointment and Mr. Clark showed up on time. He showed me what the problem was with the drain as he quickly repaired it. We then talked for a while about the work we wanted to do which included removing a toilet for a floor installation and replacing the toilet with a new one when the floor was installed, repairing some electrical outlets in the kitchen and installing some under cabinet lights over the counters (He is also an electrician). Throughout the discussion Mr. Clark listened to what we wanted and made suggestions for alternatives he thought we should consider. When we made a decision he repeated it and wrote it on a list. In the end I felt he understood what we wanted done. He was not going to charge for the call. But, I insisted. So, we received a bill for $100.
A couple of weeks later, I noticed our water heater was having some issues with rust. I called Mr. Clark to ask him to replace it. He came right out to look a the water heater and said it would be OK for a while. But, he would add replacing it to the list. Then he did a tour with me to go over the list again and discuss timing with the other contractors working on the ceiling and the floor. Again, no charge.
We have contacted Mr. Clark to update him on timing and ask questions as the project progresses. Each time he was prompt to get back and was helpful with our questions.
We will up date this when his work is completed. But, so far, Mr. Clark has been great to work with.
Updated 7-20-12 The work has been long since completed and based on what he did for us, we will call Mr. Clark for any more electrical or plumbing work we need. Everything that he does is done well. He cleans up after himself. His prices are reasonable. He is helpful with suggestions. And he is easy and pleasant to work with.
